Inconsistent QualityFirst one shipped was an opened/seal was broken but I could see and smell the the flower buds were good quality and it was 90% or more flowers. Because of broken seal had another one shipped to me, this time the seal was not broken but the quality was bad. More dried leaves and stems than lavender flowers. I wish the first one didn t have broken seal. Anyways, the product is inconsistent from can you can. Do they source from multiple farms? The second shipment had way too much leaves and stems and even what looked like hay. Such a huge difference in quality for the same product.1Strong Lavender Scent! This tea's aroma is so powerful that it escaped all cans and bags that I used to bring some to my workplace. The color of the tea leaves aren't quite as purple as shown in the image on the tin if that matters to you. I don't think I'll be drinking this lavender tea as much as I will be smelling it. I'd recommend maybe not drinking this tea just as is and instead mixing it with other teas like chamomile or peppermint. If you do want a nice pure lavender tea, use hot (not boiling) water and don't oversteep it or it can get too strong and get bitter-like. Overall a great quality tea! It's been on the shelf for 3 months now and it is still very fragrant and delicious!5VERY nice lavender scentThis tea surpassed expectations, the scent and flavor are strong, true, high-quality lavender. And the airtight tin is a bonus too, it really keeps the tea fresh. I like to mix this in with other herbal teas, such as Tisano cocoa rose or mint tea. Delicious.5Lavender Tea, no surprisesThis is just like other lavender loose-leaf teas I've tried. I actually don't like the flavor by itself but I mix it with rooibos, lemongrass, and chamomile for a calming bedtime tea. I wouldn't recommend it without blending it, but maybe some people like the taste. I like it because it is a natural sedative that helps with sleep.5Not impressed for teaReally hoped to love this but will keep but not buy anymore . It is very strong and odd tasting . This is French lavender not English which gives a more bitter taste than my other favorite chamomile lavendar tea . I will try mixing this in the future but I let it steep for 5-10 mins and the water didn t even change . I m not sure if this is an old batch or not but if not it does not steep properly . The smell is rich and good for making regular scrubs and salt scrubs and I m sure on food for tea I ll keep it to traditional medicinals ...I would not suggest this .3Spring, Summer, and a full spa experience in my..er..mouth?I ordered this after a long retail shift of work. I've recently gotten back into the work force after 15 years unable to be employed, and so as some would say, I've had to start from "the bottom," working a register to regain experience. It's not a bad job at all, and I don't look down on fellow retail people (ever, actually, before and after being employed), but I am not intimately acquainted with long days, a little anxiousness, a bit of stress during truck delivery / inventory days and sore muscles and feet.So I wanted and was craving lavender to help me unwind after work. This arrived today and came perfectly undamaged. The tin is very pretty and smooth to the touch, with a cap that slides off, and then under THAT is another little top that can be prised open to reveal a container full of HEAVEN.I mean. If lavender is your favorite scent, then, yea! HEAVEN!The instructions say to use 1 level teaspoon of lavender buds for 12 oz (or a cup and a half) of water heated to 170 ish (about the same for some green teas,) then steep for 4 minutes. The color of the water turns this wonderfully odd purple / blue with a little green to it. It smelled AMAZING while steeping. I know this, because I shoved my face over the tea the entire time and inhaled through my nose until it sounded like I was trying to do a line of lavender scented steam. The buds at the 4min mark do lose some color and absorb some water to become about twice their size. The smell after the buds have been removed (unless you want to leave the buds in, or don't have a strainer of some sort) is much milder, but no less unpleasant. It's a very flowery aroma that makes me take a deep breath in through my nose with every single sip.The first flavor to hit your mouth when the tea is right enough to sip is definitely a mouth full of pleasant, verdant greenery, not a mouthful of perfume. The second flavor much reminds of very light, floral white teas -- the lavender is there but it doesn't taste like you took a bite out of someone's bouquet. It isn't bitter to me at all, and I didn't put any sweetner of any kind. It reminds me almost too, of jasmine green tea, but a little hint of peppery-ness that for some reason I associate with lavender.I RECOMMEND THIS! And frankly? Tao of Tea has made a customer. I am EAGER to save up and try another tea from them!5Normally great - found a piece of debris (paint chip?) in it recently though.I buy this all the time. I brew it strong for anxiety/hand tremors - does seem to help. However, recently I found a piece of what looked like a white paint chip or a piece of plaster - it was thin, about a centimeter squared, and kind of chalky. Just wanted to let the customer service team know.4Use it sparinglyI love this tea! I discovered after my first use that you don't need to use very much, maybe a tsp or 1 1/2 teaspoons' worth. I started off with more like a tablespoon and it was way too strong, but still very good! It works well to relax me before going to sleep, and sometimes I will add a drop or two of CPTG Roman Chamomile essential oil to it for an extra-relaxing effect. These lavender leaves smell so wonderful that I am planning to make sachets for my closet and drawers.5Very flavorfulThis tea is very nice, it's got a really noticeable flavor and smell. I look forward to my before bed cup of this tea every night. I personally don't have much of the loose tea in my cup, as I use a diffuser. I will definitely be ordering this tea as well as others. The tin is great, and I really like it. I am extremely pleased with this product. If you love lavender tea, I would recommend this product. It's great plain or with honey.5Inconsistent batch qualityThis is my second tin of this tea. The first was wonderful -- very aromatic, and a light, soothing, refreshing taste. (Sometimes I would just open the tin for a sniff of that calming lavender smell.) So this batch would have received five stars. But the second tin I ordered, when the first was nearly empty, was awful. The flowers were a much darker color, and there was barely any scent. What smell there was seemed stale. And there was little taste. So I am very disappointed about the second tin.I have contacted Amazon for a replacement, and am hoping fervently the replacement tea will be as good as the first batch I had.3
