It Really HITS THE SPOT !!!I just started using this handy calf stretcher. I have a long history of plantar fasciiitus and lots of pain and suffering. Many things have helped over the years. This is a terrific design and execution. The best thing.... I can attach to the ankle with the velcro strip around the ankle and then stretch the offending muscles as I watch TV. This is a superior way to stretch the muscles because you can stretch for a few moments and then just relax the leg. That means you can alternate a stretch with the moment of relaxation. Since the healing process will take many months to accomplish, you can just do a little everyday without over-doing-it. Of course, you will want to alternate the stretch on both sides. 5Deeper stretch & help for pantar fasciitisI grew up as a ballet dancer, and still have a great deal of flexibility from that. But now, as an adult, I am overweight, underexercised, and have plantar fasciitis which flares up from time to time. My boyfriend and I started going roller skating, and I have been coming home being unable to barely walk due to pain in my feet from the plantar fasciitis and pain in my calves from the exercise. This product has been a life-saver.The product is fairly simple - you put on the device by fitting your heel into the hole and securing with a velcro strap (which seems like it can fit almost any size ankle/calf). Then you use the straps to pull your leg and foot in different directions to stretch the muscles in your feet and legs. I like that the strap comes with many hand grips, so I can go as deep into the stretch as I want. I like that the bottom part is long and pulls your toes into a foot stretch. I wear a size 7.5 women's street shoe, and the bottom of the foot part is much much longer than my foot. I almost think they could make this in a smaller size for those of us with smaller feet.The package came with basic pictoral instructions on the back of the plastic package (so don't throw away!) - how to put on the device, and 6 or so basic stretches. I wish it came with more since I can see this helping with a wide range of muscle groups in the legs and feet, and maybe even being able to be used for certain arm stretches.In any case, this has helped me obtain a much deeper stretch than I am capable of without it (and my leg muscles are pretty flexible to begin with). For example, when you lie on your back and stretch one leg straight to the ceiling, I have a hard time keeping my knee straight to get the right stretch. This product allows me to hold the strap at a comfortable level so that I am getting a good stretch while my knee is only slightly bent. Also I like being able to pull the leg to one side to get a deep inner thigh stretch. In short, I think it is already helping my plantar fasciitis even after only a few short sessions (and not everyday), and it definitely helped me be able to walk the day after roller skating. I was in so much pain, but stretching with this band really helped to loosen up the muscles and reduce the muscle pain. I think it is designed with all the different grips to make stretching more accessible to those older folk who have trouble getting a good stretch otherwise. 5Really gets that extra stretch inI already had a stretch strap, but I decided to try this one because it looked like it would give a good stretch for planter fascitis. It does work. That extra material under your foot really helps increase the stretch. Glad I took the chance on this one. 5AmazingAnother desperate attempt to alleviate my feet pain? Maybe, but this has paid off so far! Just had this for 2 days and love it! I got 2, one for each foot and do both at same time. It not only hits your arches, but your calves get in on the stretch too. I just sit back in my recliner with the TV on and work both feet at once...I really feel the stretch and am aggressive with it. My feet feel so much better afterwards. Seems well made/durable. I have an 11 1/2 size foot, this is fits my foot with not problem and would fit a much larger foot. I wish I found this months ago when my feet really hurt bad, this would have really helped. I highly recommend!!! 5Useful foot stretcher.I was pretty skeptical when I purchased this item but I did it anyway. I suffer from a pain in the bottoms of both feet.When I first started using this strap I felt my feet snap, crackle and pop. It was pretty painful at first but I soon realized that I purchased the right product. I now use it daily as I sit in front of the TV and the pain in the bottoms of my feet has definitely decreased in severity. I may have to use it for the rest of my life, and I will if it lessens my foot pain.Truly a life saver, er... foot saver for me. Should have bought it earlier in my life. 5Actually works for chronically tight calf musclesMy spouse has naturally tight calf muscles all the time; he says this product actually works as advertised to loosen muscles and reduce discomfort. (Works even better if you use an electric massager on the muscles while you stretch them with this device.) We are frankly surprised and impressed. 5Great Product for Plantar FasciitisWent through a couple of months of PT for Plantar Fasciitis and the Therapist used a Stretch-EZ. I continue to use this device. Has been 6 months since last PT visit and I can definitely say this device works....I have had very little pain in either foot. I run quite a bit and have developed a couple of heel spurs, and the Stretch-EZ definitely eases the pain associated with these. Highly recommend!! If you stick with daily or every other day stretching...it really helps!! If you only use this once a month...you wont see any results.....even if you are not feeling pain in your feet, continue to use regularly. I do and it definitely helps!5Life-Saver for Plantar FasciitisIf you have a bad case of plantar fasciitis, I imagine you have come up with the daily regimen of exercises to both stretch and strengthen your various arch and leg muscles.But sometimes you can just be in a lot of pain and despair. This is what you whip out when that happens (as well as for regular maintenance)!It allows you to have a stretch equivalent to several others, but in a way that it is easy to hold, and one that is easy to do mindlessly. This stretch is excellent because I can do it distractedly while watching the TV, and it durably calms my pain.This is not appropriate to do dorsiflexions (as you would do with a Theraband) because there is absolutely no elasticity, and it would require to move your hand in a not convenient way. But it does not matter, what this does do is incredibly useful.In my experience, more useful than challenge board, pro-stretch, Theraband, wedges, or TigerTail. I use all of those, but this is the one I would bring on travels.Good luck! 5Great for plantar fasciitisI love the ability to actually pull back on my toes with this stretcher - it feels like the only thing that actually truly stretches my plantar fasciitis. I could pull back on the ball of my foot with a yoga strap all day, but as soon as I got this strap and could bend my toes back too, it made a big difference. I got a tip from my physical therapist friend too, to turn my foot/leg slightly inward while stretching - that tip plus this stretching strap has brought some relief! Highly recommended. 5Good but one critical flawThis has worked pretty well for me, but only if I move it around and stretch a couple of areas at a time. The reason for that is the only real area that gets stretched is what is under the thinner black pulling strap, and not the rest of the pouch holding your foot. So if you center the device on your foot and pull, really only your center three digits get the stretch while your big toe sort of sits there in the red sling because the black pulling strap isn't under it.3Where have you been all my leg long days?This is durable and serves its purpose well. I used this same product at physical therapy and purchased one for home. It's help reduce my pain and improve range of motion.5Good for stretching feet with plantar fasciitisI had a *very* bad plantar fasciitis flare-up and started a regimen [based on googling everything in sight] to restore my feet to mobility. This little gadget is very good for stretching out both my feet and the backs of my legs [both are equally important]. I stayed off my feet for the first week [worked on the couch], and at first all I could handle, shoe-wise, were Crocs+Scholl's gel inserts. But after about 2 weeks, I bought supportive shoes [Mephisto "Rush"], a foot roller, and had a regimen of stretching/yoga 2xday, ankle rotations 2xday, and frequent stretch breaks when sitting at a desk.Things I learned NOT to do: walk barefoot, wear ballet flats, wear shoes without arch support, wear old running shoes [they lose their resilient "bounce"], run on hard surfaces [a treadmill has a much more forgiving surface], ignore my body's need for daily stretching. 5This is a great invention!I have a long-running problem with my achilles & plantar fasciitis that started with a calf muscle injury. However, it's hard for me to stretch it properly without aggravating my back. This works a treat! It's easy, sturdy, well made, light, portable, foldable, very effective, inexpensive! Can I say more? No! Because I can't think of any more adjectives! It has been a huge help. 5Makes Stretching So Much EasierThe Stretch-EZ is a great product. I HATE stretching and it helps me work my way through it because it makes stretching easier. It also helps stretch my foot and toes which you don't get when you stretch without an aid. I have used a couple other products but this one is better because it holds the foot and ankle more stable. With an aid I feel more like I am doing something and have a routine worked out with it. The Stretch-Ez was recommended to me by my physical therapist.The reason I gave the product a four star rating rather than a five is because one of the loops nearer to the toe area came unsewn after about five or six uses. The loops should be sewn more times--they are only sewn across one time. If you are very tight which I am it puts much more pressure on the loop and as they aren't sewn down as well they could come loose. Actually, anyone pulling with a lot of pressure could tear the loops loose. Despite this issue, I do love the product and would certainly recommend it and would purchase it again.4
