works as intendedI remember this from being a kid.... nothing nicer than to scoot under the blankets and foot area already being cozy warm.... yes, they do smell, just like all rubber stuff does, but it shouldn't bother you, unless your nose is overly sensitive. Mine aired out pretty quickly. I keep one at home, the other is in my suit case for my frequent travels.... I don't like over heated hotel rooms and an electric blanket is inconvenient and bulky. This water bottle fits the bill just perfectly. Have had no issues with leakage and since I'm no longer a kid with an inquisitive mind and access to sharp knitting needles, these two should last me for quite a while (ah.... but the fountain effect was marvelous back then, lol) will most likely buy some more for my daughter.5Works wellUpdate: My wife and I have been using these bottles almost daily since purchase. No problem so far. The smell of rubber almost went away to a point that it doesn't bother my wife anymore. One downside of it is that she uses both of them together and I don't get to use any. Looking forward to buy again.I used to have these type of bottles that are made of 100% natural rubber when I was a kid. The smell of rubber never bothered me. These bottles, because they are made of 100% natural rubber, they smell like rubber. Bottles work just fine. They don't leak and they keep the hot water hot for a prolonged period of time. Bottom line is what's made of 100% rubber cannot be smelling like flower. Maybe wrapping them in towel will help containing the smell. I would rather have something made of natural than plastic and worry about bpa. No complaint from me so far. My wife does not like the smell though...5Bitter taste !These bad boys keep the heat for heat compresses. But it has a bitter taste. Yes I said taste! Because after holding it for a while the rubber residue somehow gets onto your hands and I happened to be eating my food and tasted my hands. Yuck! But for the most part does the job. Just wash your hands after and don t put your hands in your mouth during. Keeps really heated liquids to up to 22 minutes.5DO NOT BUY!DO NOT BUY! They smell like a tire factory even after 4 months. The seal on the bottle twister (is that what you call it?) is fallen off so the water leaks when it is not upright. Only used it about 5 times or so, I thought the price was cheap and the general review was okay. But now I know better. DON'T BUY THIS TRASH!1Very small fill opening. Dangerous to use. DO NOT BUY!This hot water bottle was for my elderly mother in law. She had a very difficult time pouring very hot water into the small opening. She commented that she had never seen such a stupid design and showed me. I initially assumed that she was just complaining but when I saw it was shocked at the thoughtlessness of this design. The opening really is tiny. Because the water is very hot it can be quite dangerous to use.1Warning label in a stupid place.It does stink a bit. It s a strange turpentine smell almost. Also on the inside of where you pour the hot water (which isn t easy to spot) there s a hard to read label saying don t use boiling water and don t fill more than halfway. I didn t see this warning the first time I used this and thus did the opposite, but it was fine. Nothing leaked, just very hot. The smell seems to be slowly dissipating. It wasn t enough to give me a headache but it was unpleasant. I think the manufacturer should put the warning in color in a more visible spot. Regardless this keeps my feet warm and fits my hot water bottle holder.3Quality product & great customer serviceThese are exactly what you'd expect and hope for. Some of the reviews complain about the smell but rubber always has a little smell - all I did was stick them in the dishwasher and voila! no more smell at all! I literally received this product less than 24 hours ago! This material is cheap! I was uneasy from even the smell of the bottle when I put the water in. The water came gushing out after 10 mins. You would have thought it was sliced. Thank God I had on a long house coat. I would have burned my legs and lower part of my body! Sick and now part of my couch is wet! Not happy right now!1Lasting warmthWe've been using these water bottles since arrival - four days, now. I fill with hot tap water, wrap in a towel/cover, and tuck into bed/crate. Twelve hours later, the water is still warm. My fur baby and I snuggled in comfort (he's in the crate). This is a noticeable difference from my old rubber water bottles which didn't seem to last long. We have had no problems with leaks. Great purchase. Save money. Live better.5
