Beetles thriving inside sealed bagI was happy with the product until I opened it this morning and found beetles thriving inside (purchased Nov 2015). Thriving in a completely sealed bag, kept inside a closed cabinet in my home. Which means they have been eating, defecating, breeding, etc. in the product. Obviously I had to throw the entire bag out. I am impressed by the little creatures and their remarkable ability to survive. They appear to be raspberry beetles, here all the way from Croatia (origin country) unless the infection happened here in the states. Unfortunate. I usually order all of my herbs from Mountain Rose Herbs, but they were out of raspberry leaf and I ordered this instead. I just ordered a replacement from Mountain Rose Herbs. So I've been drinking tea with these creatures in various stages of life in my cup. It wasn't until this morning that the adult beetles were obvious. 1I found chunks of wood! The red raspberry leaf tea has pieces of wood in it. I assumed they would have standards to adhere to but now I'm afraid to drink it. And that was just a piece of wood big enough to see without looking. I'm afraid to know what else is in there that I would have to search for. If they missed chunks of wood how do I know they didn't miss bugs. I don't want to drink wood tea or beetle tea, I just wanted red raspberry leaf tea. Now I'm wondering if that's even what they used at all. 1such a waste but I wasn't sure it was safeThere was a ladybug wing in the bag and then when I looked closer there were a few bits of styrofoam. Since the actual box it came in did not have any styrofoam in it I was afraid there were bits of ground styrofoam I couldn't see so I dumped the entire bag. It was a huge bag, such a waste but I wasn't sure it was safe. The ladybug wing actually didn't bother me too much - probably proves it is organic sans pesticides but the styrofoam was a no no 1Your Uterus will thank you!6 HOUR LABOR AND DELIVERY!!! I mean yes I did a few other things, but the way my contractions felt...they were very powerful. This was my third pregnancy and I do not remember my contractions being nearly as effective. My second labor was 23 hours long. Labor stalled. Contractions we re doing much.I drank this every day from 16 weeks to 20 weeks than twice a day from 20 to 24 and then doubled both servings from 24 to 38 weeks and then added a third double batch a day. I gave birth at 40 weeks ON my duedate. Not to mention, the tea tastes great iced wth lemon!! Mmmm I still have a ton left over and plan to give some to my sister who s expecting! 5A fluffy bag full of chopped up garden waste. This has zero odor of any kindNot tea, and not for human use. A fluffy bag full of chopped up garden waste. This has zero odor of any kind, for "raspberry" leaf tea is should have a bit of odor of some kind. Way too many twigs, bark and other non "leaf" items to even think about brewing this to drink. Complete wast of money and for sure not what I expect from Amazon. I feel like I was just shopping in a foreign country and bought this off the sidewalk represented as "tea" to go home and open the bag to find a bag of fluffy cut up non-fragrant yard waste. Sad. 1It works for bad crampsI purchased this to help with my horrible period cramps. They are so bad I vomit and have passed out before. I used this to make a tea. I drank about 3 cups a day for 2weeks leading up to my period and there was a significant difference. The first day or two I'm usually bed ridden but this month I was able to eat and get out of my bed. I t still very painful but not how it usually. I'm hoping in the next coming months it with gradually get better.I took one star off because the leaves had a ton of twigs in it. 4I am not really that picky but concrete chunks are a little hard to ignore.Allright, 1lb is a great amount, The flavor of the leaves is good, the packaging was ok, not great. This mix-and it is a mix or stems, sticks, leaves and foreign particles requires careful scrutinizing before use. I transferred 1/2 of my lb of leaves into a half gallon mason jar-it barely fit. I was astonished to see how many sticks and stems there were and to see a sizable piece of concrete fall out of the handfulls I transferred. The first pebble was about the size of an almond, the others were much smaller and hard to find. I would suggest if you purchase from them, that you lay out your mix on a clean surface and agitate it to let the heavier sticks and pebbles drop to the bottom of the pile and that you carefully lift out the clumps of leaves and store in a decent container like a canister or jars.I think their method of harvesting must be haphazard and their quality control must be deficient. I won't be buying this product from them again due to the clear indifference to quality-who knows if they even harvested the leaves in early spring when they are at their peak for nutrients? I would have ordered from Mountain Rose Herbs but they have been out for weeks and I needed these now. 3DON'T BUY ITDon't buy it. I just got it in the mail and found a little piece of plastic in with the loose leaves. I'm trying to connect with customer service on this to return it, but it looks like I can't get a refund/return. Waste of $ and resources. I'm not going to steep plastic in hot water and drink it. Not happy. 1poor quality, 0 starsThis product had many bits of twigs and what appeared to be shredded paper. There were a few dried berries too, which means it was picked at the wrong time. I would have been OK with a few twigs but paper should not be in tea. When I made the tea to use for cramps, it barely helped even at triple strength. I have used other brands and one tea bag was plenty. Also the taste was different. Do not buy this brand! 1Superb Quality! If you want raspberry tea for the flavor this is not for you but if you are looking for medicinal grade raspberry leaf this is the best! Raspberry leaf tea doesn't taste like raspberries at all! This has a mild herb flavor that I wouldn't fool with if I only drank it for the taste. Red raspberry is especially good for the female system and helpful during pregnancy for a number of reasons but it is safe for everyone. (unless you happen to be allergic, which I've never heard of before but who knows?) The first time I harvested my own raspberry leaves I through them out after they were dried because I thought they looked moldy. I have since learned that this is just the look of dried raspberry leaves! When it is dried it is still somewhat soft instead of crunchy like most dried herbs and it clumps together. This is a very mild tea and should be steeped like white or green tea: heat water to 175 degrees F and use 1 1/2 teaspoons for every 8oz of water. Steep for 2-4 minutes according to taste. I like to sweeten mine with a little honey. As with most herbal teas, it doesn't cream well. 5
