Beard burn fix.I rarely write reviews but I just had to today. 3 days ago my husband and I were kissing and I got the worst beard burn on my chin. It hurt and it felt raw but flaky. I read online to put hydrocortisone on it Next day Istupidly used the 2% one not the milder version which severely aggravated my chin and made it red and burn. So I made it a lot worse. Thank god im on maternity leave and can t leave the house bc that s an excuse not to be seen lol. Anyway, I researched a lot and some said keep it dry others said keep it moist. I tried everything. Honey, a potato, etc. nothing helped. Lol eventually I decided to get this, along with the bandaids with 4 sides bc that s the only thing that would stay on my chin.Today I recovered it about every 3.5 hours by cutting these into smaller pieces (keeping the extra in a ziplock bag to maintain moisture) and keeping it on with the bandaid. At 7pm I went to change the bandaid and pad again and a significant amount of the chin has already had skin flake off and new skin (although pinkish in color) has appeared. I also have no more pain. Honestly I m so relieved and happy I found this and can t wait to see how it progresses later in the night. I ll be using this for a few more days and then ensuring I use sun screen thereafter to avoid any after effect. 5Great cooling releifHusband got a bad burn on his legs. We used these to protect the burn, both on the open areas and on the blisters, and offer some cooling. Every time we changed his bandages and we put a fresh one on he would always sigh with relief. Love also that you can cut them to size and/ or butt them together to make a larger patch or cover that tiny area.Keeping some on hand for any future mishaps. 5Great for road rash!Used these for road rash, along with some smaller of the same. Amazing! Instantly relieved the pain without any medicine. Healed super fast without scabbing over. Very pleased. Everyone should have these in their medicine cabinet! Don't be afraid to cut them to the size/shape needed. You will still need some kind of bandage to keep these in place. I recommed duoderm at first, followed by tagaderm. Duoderm is not see-through, and thicker. You can buy large ones and cut to the proper size. These kept the 2nd skin pads in place while it healed, even on my foot and knee as I walked around. Just be sure to bend fully when applying the bandage since they are better wrinkled up than stretched. 5Awesome!!!Ah, instant relief. I could not get any sleep the night before these pads were delivered, as 2nd/3rd degree burn areas where skin came off began to heal, and, thus, to dry. After covering the burn with several pads, I was finally able to get a few hours of sleep. If used with burn cream, these pads actually stay on pretty well without having to bandage the area.I just wish these pads were available in larger sheets. In my case, I need at least four to cover the area. By the way, urgent care center staff haven't seen these pads before and actually kept the packaging, so they could order some. 5Hope you don't ever need them, but if you do, they're a god send.I absolutely cannot recommend these enough. I had a kitchen mishap that went very bad, very fast and until I was able to get these gel pads onto the wound (at the recommendation of the doctor who treated me) I was in absolute agony. I've used similar products in the past because I am a terrible klutz, and each time they made things much less painful and seemed to help speed healing along. Hopefully you'll never need to use something like this, but if you find yourself with a nasty burn or horrible blister check with your doctor - and then order these right away. 52nd Degree Burn on FootI received a 2nd degree burn on the top of my foot after spilling boiling water on it.... Horrible I tell you. Anyways, initially I had a huge blister that was about 3 inches in diameter. Yes, yes, I probably should have gone to the doctor, BUT, I do believe in trying to solve most issues with minimal medication and doctor visits..... So.... Anywho, I let the blister stay intact for approximately 6 days just to give my body its uninterrupted time of beginning repairs (I did use antibiotic ointment and gauze and bandaged it a few hours out of the day). On the 6th day I sterilized a pin cushion needle and drained the blister by poking about 4 holes evenly spaced at the base of the blister. I left the skin intact. The next day one of my toddlers fell on my foot and the skin came off. So much for conserving money not trying to buy a bunch of gauze and what not.... So sterilized the outer part of skin with alcohol and cleaned the entire foot with soap and water before placing sterile gauze, ointment and medical tape for security. The gauze was kind uncomfortable and my foot hurt with every movement, especially going up and down stairs.... Enough story time.So now to the point, after coming across the moist pads during my research the first day but deciding not to buy, I decided to give it a try since my wound was no longer protected by its own skin and the research over the previous week supported giving it a shot for my burn. Needless to say, I truly regret not buying these the day I got burned. They are very comfortable and the healing of my burn seems to be going faster than expected after only 24 hours of use. And did I mention I can walk up and down the stairs without pain which I couldn t do just 24 hours before putting this on? It s great. I am using my second pad, but will give it a break the next day because it does have a lot of moisture so I feel my surrounding unburned skin will need a breather.I have not had an allergic reaction nor any weird feelings thus far. I am curious to see how the overall healing process goes with these. Will update my review when I get the chance.Just a side note, the blue film is on the side of the pad that is NOT facing the clear film before you open it. I only mention this because the instructions in the box do not state to remove the clear film that is on it. I accidentally removed the clear film on my first pad assuming that the side that is showing through the clear film when you take the little pack out of the box was the blue film. It wasn t of course. Since I felt the clear film probably helps keep the moisture in and keeps it structured since it is like a gooey type of slime slab, I discarded the first pad and tried again. Just thought I would mention it in case anyone was wondering like I was when I was trying to figure it out in the first place. The whole thing is blue! I didn t know. I would recommend this product. 5Totally works. Highly recommend. These are a miracle worker. They really do relieve and help heal burns. After the first time using them, I keep them in my first aid kit. If it's too big for my burn, I cut the pad before I remove the backing, then keep the unused portion in a Ziploc bag for up to a day to apply later.I once accidentally poured a pot of boiling water on the back of my hand. I only had a small one of these. The part that had been covered by the pad was less severely burned and healed faster than the uncovered area. (I still did go to the doctor immediately since this was a severe burn. I used this as emergency first aid.) I highly recommend these. 5Amazing for burn treatment at home. This is amazing stuff. Game changer for treating burns at home. Just wish it was 2 or 3 times bigger; or at least available in bigger sizes. We use 2-3 pads plus a couple smaller ones to cover the burn. Change it daily and it has made the healing sooooooooo much better and quickerFinally figured out that we needed to peel the top clear layer up to attach to the next pad. Then they adhere and stick together much better and stay in place. We have to use 3 pads now, and at one point were needing 4-5 and it was difficult before I figured out to peel the top clear layer so they kinda merge together. Wish I had know this earlier it was so much better when we figured this out. 5Quick!!!I just received these today and I ve only worn one for roughly two hours and I m already pleased. Like a lot of people, I have eczema and unfortunately whenever I injure myself, like a burn or paper cut, my eczema automatically surrounds the wound. And the burn that I sustained this time is awkwardly on the back of my hand. Because of the location, I accidentally popped my blister making it practically impossible for my wound to heal. In the short time that I ve been wearing this bandage my eczema has stopped itching faster than any prescribed cream has. Even after my burn heals I ll be buying these regularly for my eczema. 5... do have a tendency to bump into things -- like the edge of the BBQ grillI do have a tendency to bump into things -- like the edge of the BBQ grill, or the boiling spaghetti pot -- these are THE BEST for small burns (even for bad sunburn) - they take the heat away immediately to prevent skin damage --Years ago, there was a similar "reusable" product (soak in water overnight) on the market that I carried in my first aid kit when camping and it was always quite helpful with routine campfire burns, but that product is no longer available.DO NOT hesitate to go to the Emergency Room if you have very serious or large burns --But for small burns, sunburn, or if you're in the woods or out on your boat -- THIS IS THE THING TO CARRY IN YOUR FIRST AID KIT! 5
