Does what I need them to do!I suffer from iron deficiency anemia, and I've found the only way to manage it is to supplement with iron. These pills have been my favorite of all of the brands I've tried. Others have made me feel nauseated and/or caused "bathroom issues," but I have experienced no side effects with these. I can even take them on an empty stomach with no problems. Love them! 5A great way to bring up low iron and ferritin.My ferritin and iron were low. Like dangerously so. The show release helped avoid the dreaded iron pill constipation problem most people get when they add an iron supplement. My iron rose up at a healthy pace and after just a month I'm back in optimal range. 5Gentile Iron AbsorptionI consulted a PhD Nutritionist and she recommended Solgar Gentile Iron. She recommended I take it with buffered C or orange juice to increase absorption. 5Tastes bad manI don't get stomach aches when taking this, but the aftertaste is just not good. I was using the regular pills before and that would leave a metal aftertaste in my mouth, these ones don't taste like that but it still isn't good. I recommend taking it with flavored water or a smoothie or basically anything with a strong flavor to mask this. 3best iron tablets I've triedI've been aneamic my whole life, and have struggled to find iron tablets that sit well with me, as I have a lot of digestive issues. These were recommended by a pharmacist and I have not looked back. They are gentle on the stomachas they describe. The taste, however, is not very pleasant. The capsules taste like bitter Play-Doh. I don't expect vitamins and supplements to taste fantastic, so I'm not too hung up on the flavor. Does not constipate, but helps me sleep so much better and improves my hair and overall energy.Since I don't eat red meat, I try to get all my iron from iron rich foods, but sometimes fall short. If I feel I need it, I can take 2 capsules in a 24 hour time span and give myself a boost. 5Good product; doesn't burn a hole in your gutSolgar consistently makes a good product. I've taken iron in the past where it did one of two things: burned a hole in my gut (or at least it felt like it) or created a plug of constipation (TMI, I know). This product did neither, and I felt a boost of energy from the iron helping to restore my low levels. I also like that this product doesn't have any dyes or additives. Who needs extra carcinogens? I really don't mind taking brown pills. In fact, bright pink or turquoise vitamins make me suspicious. 4Helps me sleep!Great product, non-constipating.
