So much better than tennis balls on the bottom of my father's ...So much better than tennis balls on the bottom of my father's walker. First, they glide easily over multiple surfaces- carpet, wood, concrete and asphalt. Not something you can do with rubber tips. They last much longer than tennis balls. Also, cutting a slot in a tennis ball is a little dangerous. 5Mom's WalkerBought these for my Mom's lightweight walker, and they work okay for in the house on tile floors. Not really intended for long term walking on hard top, gravelly or even grass surfaces as I see her having to lift the walker and use the front wheels in order to propel forward. For what they are, they are much better than original caps on walker. 4Penco Universal Walker Ski, Glides - 1 PairAs a 100% service-connected disabled veteran, I have been provided a heavy-duty walker for the bedroom and one for the family room. I have used these products before, and I can testify that they are amazingly durable, easy to install, and will last quite a long time. I can easily recommend this product, and I will purchase them again when the current ones are worn out. 5Great Product Walker GlidesI recently had major spine surgery and am using a walker to get around the house and for my required daily outside walks. I had the usual tennis balls which worked okay inside, but once I started my outside walks, they quickly wore out and started causing a drag. My husband got me two sets of the the Walker Glides - one set for inside and one for outside (based on other's reviews). This was helpful info as the outside Glides (after continued use) will scratch up your inside floors (tile/wood). The Glides work great and I am really happy with the performance. They definitely make the outside walks much easier to deal with.I highly recommend this product and am going to let my doctor know about the Glides so that he can advise his other patients who may need walkers that the Gliders make them easier to use (versus tennis balls). I was also fortunate to have someone give me a second walker, so I don't have to change out the Glides for inside/outside use. Once I'm done with my walkers, I will donate them so that others in similar situations can have an extra one for outside use.One note - be careful when you first transition from the tennis balls to the Glides to get used to the speed of the walker as there is no drag or resistance. Also, I'd evaluate whether these would be appropriate for elderly people because the walker moves pretty fast on tile and wood floors. 5Great Product and Fast InstallationI just installed the Glides and they are smooth and NO FRICTION of vibration that I had with another brand. This is a Great Product. In addition, when I first purchased this product the seller change vendors of product and end result was cheaper too. I was also refunded on my credit card very fast. If you should need Walker Glides, this is the product I believe you will be very satisfied. 5Are there ANY glides that don't screech on tile floors?These seem to be holding up fairly well, compared to others that I have gotten, however, like all the others (except tennis balls) these screech loudly when used on tile/marble floors. This not only hurts my ears, but is embarrassing! I tried using tennis balls, however since I frequently am outside on concrete as well, they wear out far too quickly, AND, they catch on the edge of rugs. I'm thinking the only solution is to put wheels on the back! 3Best I've used so farThese are the best glides I've used to date. I purchased two pair on 02/05/2015 and just replaced the first ones on 05/05/2015. That is MUCH LONGER than the usual time (about 2-3 weeks) that others have lasted. Easy to install with one Phillips screwdriver, they work well on all indoor surfaces, on concrete, and asphalt roadways. I do have to lift the walker up when going over the throw rugs in front of doorways in stores, otherwise they will flip the rug up and I tend to trip over it. I've just ordered two more pair -- based on the length the first pair lasted (3 months), the three pair I will have should last me at least another 9 months. 5what an amazing improvementGot these for my 85 year old neighbor who was constantly replacing tennis balls. They are just awesome - even good for "off-roading" through a field, when I take her with me to the dog park. I don't see her needing to ever replace them. 5BUY THEM NOW!My husband recently had hip surgery. His doctor told him that he should try to slide his walker instead of lifting it up. I found these on Amazon and my husband loves them. When he goes to therapy, everybody asks about them....they are very durable and will last way longer than using tennis balls on your walker. They are easy to install and I found out that they fit different size walkers 5Great product, great quality(but broke after about 3 months)Very easy to install and very well made product. It's been in use for ~1 month and is so much better than tennis balls.Edit: After about 3?? months both skis broke(within a couple weeks of each other) so they are no longer in use. Nice while they lasted but the way they overhang they are quite venerable to breakage. Subtracted one star from original review, maybe I should have done more though considering how quickly they broke.... 4
