Placed correctly is relieving my Taylors Bunion and Bunion pain in both feet.I suffer from both the big toe bunion and pinky toe bunion on both feet. i'm very active and usually walk/jog about 40 miles a week. I am always finding new ways to make my feet pain free and the biggest challenge has often been finding a metatarsal pad that works well.I decided to try these based on the reviews and they are probably some of the best I've used. Not only do they apply just the right amount of pressure behind the metatarsal bones when placed correctly, they aren't too firm. I do not like the gel ones because they just hurt.Lastly, these are the only ones that have stayed put with the self adhesive, even after having to remove/adjust/stick back a few times.I am using these on my arch supports and in my New Balance 1080V8 and 990V4 shoes. They are a life saver from metatarsal pain. 5Good Product, Make Sure That Your Feet Get Used to Them Before RunningThese were prescribed by my doctor for metatarsal inflammation and they helped almost immediately. If you are going to run with these in your shoes I suggest that you wear them just walking around for a week or so. I put them in right away and went for a run and wanted to call it quits after 2 miles (pain was similar to what you'd feel from a blister). I left them in my shoes and just went for walks for a week and the next time that I ran everything was great, metatarsal pain gone. 4How to Place / Locate Metatarsal PadI use both Pedag T-Form and Pedag Drop (1) functions with footwear that has removable insole (2) can be installed / positioned above or below the footwear insole, dependent on user preference (3) I use a self-tailored fastener (cut, trimmed, and rolled, adhesive side out) piece of duct-tape, under the Pad, to temporarily position and secure the Pad. ( 3a) Tip / Top of Metatarsal Pad should extend marginally above the geometric plane at the base of the big-toe metatarsal capsule, extending horizontally across the ball of foot. Shouldn't be behind, and not directly under the metatarsal capsule (4) Once satisfied with the location of the Pad, I outline the position with magic marker, then I remove the tailored duct-tape fastener, and then I apply duct-tape over the Pedag metatarsal pad, to ensure it remains in desired position (5) effective aid to relieve pain associated with metatarsalgia (5) I developed metatarsalgia (second toe ) and upon installing the pad, experienced immediate relief, and resumed hiking and walking the dogs. (6) But, the Pad isn't a panacea - metatarsalgia can require reduced stress on foot, i.e., reduced activity ( I terminated jogging for 3 months ) - (7) the use of a metatarsal pad and insole with proper arch support, worn a majority of the day. (7) I placed in all my footwear (8) I installed it in a pair of old jogging shoes that i washed and cleaned, to be worn exclusively in the house ( I don't wear footwear in the house, but for this one exception ) (9) I purchased Pedag insoles - with built in metatarsal pads - for other footwear, to obviate the need to constantly remove insoles with metatarsal pads from one pair of footwear and insert in a different pair. I like the Viva Sport as it fits in both jogging footwear and casual footwear. I also use the Viva Outdoor in my hiking Boots. (10) Pedag T-Form was more comfortable for my feet than the Pedag Drop, ( but my feet adjusted and I use both pads effectively ) Seeking professional medical care is recommended, as the first response to any medical issue; in context to this review - a licensed , Podiatrist, and / or a Primary Care Physician. 4Dramatic relief for Capsulitis!Life-changing. I have been in pain for 2 months with capsulitis of the second toe. I had a shot in the toe, which helped but didn t last. I was getting so frustrated with my pain, taking NSAIDs, and icing the foot for only temporary relief. My third toe was beginning to separate from the second and I was desperate to align my toes again. fast forward to today: I came home from shopping and my foot was very sore. I saw the Amazon package on the doorstep and rushed to put these pads in my sneakers the minute they arrived. It took a little trial and error, but the trick is to put them just BEHIND the ball of your foot, right before the fat pad starts. Anyhow, these are so fabulous and the relief was dramatic for me. I have been afraid to take a step for so long that it took me a few minutes to trust that the relief was going to last. It s amazing. Get a three pack. You re going to want them for your favorite shoes. I ll never be without them. So happy! 5Great if you can position them correctly for your foot.I've had these forever and wasn't sure how I felt about them initially. I have capsulitis in 1 foot under the 2nd toe. I have placed these too far up in shoes before and they are quite painful if you do that. If you put them in correctly, they are very helpful in alleviating pain. They are well made and durable. Many people commented that they never come off, but I have been able to peel some off of certain shoes and re-stick them in a better position. I did get 1 pair wet and they still function quite well....they started to peel off the shoe a bit and I just used superglue (the pad itself is still perfect though).I just wish these had easier instructions. I have watched videos and looked at diagrams. I have considered getting the Pedag tear drop shaped ones instead because the shape seems like it would be easier to figure out with my foot. 4They work best (for me) if I actually TAPE it to my ...These are a quality product, and the only thing I have found to relieve my Morton's neuroma. They work best (for me) if I actually TAPE it to my bare foot using breathable surgical tape. That keeps it in the exact proper position (because your foot naturally shifts a bit in your shoe.)I cover the sticky part of the pad with duct tape, giving the pad a smooth base to which I can daily attach & remove the surgical tape. Each pair lasts me a couple months. I am finally pain free when walking! 5Great for Morton's Neuroma!I have a Morton's Neuroma on the bottom of my foot that is very painful to walk on. I used these pads to sandwich between Kinesiology tape so I can slide the wrap on and off my foot with any shoe. I saw a video while searching Youtube under "Morton's Neuroma" that showed how to wrap the tape sticky side out without stretching the tape (you don't want to squeeze a painful foot), place the pad then cover with a length of kinesiology tape sticky side down. It relieves the pain enough to walk a bit longer and off load the stress on the metatarsal heads. Will order again. Also, the Morton's has widened my foot, I used to be an 8 1/2 M women's shoe, now I wear men's 8 EEEE tennis shoe with a memory foam footbed, but my foot and walking is much better! 5Nice product.These things really are awesome. The only downside is they flatten after a few years and they tend to tear up your insole when/if you remove them to replace them with fresh ones. Whatever adhesive is on these things is perfection and the leather holds up well. Wish it came in brown or black,then it wouldn't show grime as much. Also, they are a lil pricey. 5Great productI put these in almost all my shoes because of my abnormally high arches. They give great support without causing my ankles to roll like my custom orthotics do. I buy the large even though my feet are only a size 7 1/2 to get the right support. You just have to be sure to stick them exactly where you need them because they stay on tight. 5Neuropathy Relief for Sandals?I've got Neuropathy in both feet but still want to use sandals. I was born and live in San Diego and have always used Reef Sandals after work as well as at the beach. Since I have orthotics for my boots and dress shoes, I wondered if I could use the same idea with sandals. Yes there are special sandals you can purchase that cost a fortune, but being kind of a "I don't know if I can do something until I have tried and failed" kind of guy, I decided to tackle this.First I use the best padded Reef Sandal I could find. Amazon has a good supply of Reef Sandals you can choose from.. I can personally attest to the Reef Men's Fanning Sandal that is plenty cushy. I wore them for a few days before placing the pad and felt somewhat OK with them but I still had about 50% burning pain. I then purchased the metatarsal pads after reading other good reviews on Amazon. Before peeling the protector paper off the pad I placed them under the foot comparing the instructions first. Actually you want to pay particular attention to the instructions because it will get you about 75% of the way.Now for the fine tuning! It is most important is that you get the pad placed so to apply weight on the foot, you cause your toes to go down thus moving the weight to your toes. Bata Bing! Your done.I was a bit skeptical about the use of a leather product on a sandal but they have proved themselves way beyond my expectations. So far, they have lasted several months without coming unglued, delaminating or even moving on the sandal. This is wonderful because they were used while power washing my vehicles, patios and gardening work. After all of that water, they look as good now as they did new. Since then, i have placed them on two other Reef Sandals of different colors for a change with all working well! I am still enjoying my "foot freedom" after work changing into the sandals with no negative issues. I breathe a sigh of "foot relief" that at least for now, I can still enjoy the out doors with my sandals. For the price and quality I would rate these a five star with my thanks and appreciation. 5
