Beware: NOT as labelledThe label on this product makes it appear it is flaxseed oil only. NOT true. It has 5 additional ingredients including other oils and non-oil products making it unusable for my needs. The label should make it clear this is a BLEND. As an aside It is also extremely bitter, how anyone could consume this product is beyond me.1Seasoning my Cast Iron CookwareBought this because local stores where we shop did not have Organic Flax Seed Oil to season my cast iron cookware. Excellent product that performed exceedingly well at seasoning my pans and griddle.5Not Pure Flax oil and NOT stored properlyThe label clearly states to keep refrigerated. This arrived without any type of cold pack and I have doubts it has been stored correctly or oils do go rancid. Also be aware that this is a blend of flax, sunflower, rosemary extract etc., not pure flax oil. Amazon return has been requested, refund being processed without having to send back the product which makes sense, as it has not been stored properly. Let's hope Amazon improves that aspect :)1Good value; No additives I used this product to bake in a non-stick finish on my cast-iron skillets. It was Rancid and bitter tasting as soon as I opened it even though the date is not expired. This is the third bottle I've tried from now foods and every time they are Rancid. I will be going back to the barlean's flaxseed oil even though it is more expensive. It never tasted bitter like this one does. Also I just noticed that it is not 100% pure flaxseed oil but a blend.1Check to see if oil is rancidReceived the item in great condition and attempted to use it for the first time, but found it to be so foul smelling that I kept it in the pantry instead, trying to figure out what to do with a whole btl of flax seed oil that i paid good money for. After watching a chef's televised YouTube demonstration for curing cast iron pots and pans, I purchased this Flax Seed Oil and very patiently followed the chef's directions to the letter. The cured surface looks better than it has looked in forty years. A few more times cooking on it should detrmine whether "like" turns to "love."4It's a supplement, Oil blend - not pure flax seed oil.NOT for seasoning cast iron. Didn't work well for me. After more research I found a material scientist that suggested vegetable shortening (Crisco) is close to ideal for cast iron seasoning. Flax seed oil is too brittle when hardened. I season with Crisco and cook with peanut oil in a ketchup squirter and I'm happy. This stuff is better used for nutritional value.3
