A Must Have for Walker UsersVery easy to install and wonderfully smooth on my hardwood and tile floors. A must have for anyone using the two wheel/two leg walkers. Installation is much easier with a little added lubrication (think saliva).If the legs have been used excessively without adequate protection and have burrs or rough spots, it may be necessary to smooth the areas coming into contact with the slides. I used a small Dremel tool. 5Best Walker TipsI have bought different walker tips. These hold up much better than any others. They work great over carpet or concrete. They can slide easily though so they might not be right for very elderly or very immobile people. I had one break after 6 months now. But I m pretty rough on them. Contacted the company and they have a one year guarantee. Sent me a new set and got them in 4 days. AWESOME COMPANY AND PRODUCT 5A must for any walker w/o wheels buy NOVA brand onlyNova invented these skis. Walgreens is making a knock off that's half as thick, so they'll wear down quickly. The skis will prevent the walker from coming to a sudden stop when it hits a crack in the sidewalk, thereby preventing a fall. The skis will help your walker glide over uneven surfaces. These are easy to put on, don't require tools. Throwaway tennis balls and buy the Nova skis. Amazon has the best price. Buy Nova brand only. 5My favorite walker skis!As a physical therapist for the geriatric population, I see a lot of adaptations for walkers but these are by far my favorite. They are easy to put on to the walker so a family member or the patient can assemble them easily. Some other skis need to be screwed on to the walker and tend to be more fragile with sharper edges. The NOVA Glide Skis have rounded edges, so that even patients with fragile skin won't cut themselves on them in the event of a trip or fall. The skis are large enough that the patient does not need to worry about the feet of the walker catching in the gap of an elevator, which is an issue I've encountered in the past. These skis also do well over outdoor surfaces, though obviously the user still needs to be aware of changes in surfaces. Though the skis will sometimes rotate slightly over time, it's an easy fix that doesn't effect the use of the product. I highly recommend this product for smoother and safer walker use. 5Easy glide on carpet.Easy to put on. The hard part was removing the old caps on the walker. I used a pipe wrench to remove. Glides very easy from carpet to linoleum. I would purchase this item again. 5More durable than others (?)I've bought skids from other companies and the NOVA skids seem to the best built. The skid is much thicker than others and, appears to be, better assembled; therefore should be longer lasting (?). Very easy to fit on my walker. A bit pricier than most skids but the quality appears to be there. Also, carries an Amazon Choice recommendation. Will write another review in a year or two (three?) when these skids wear out (;>). 5Received these in Feb 2017 and today March 30 2017 ...Received these in Feb 2017 and today March 30 2017 they are worn and material covering screw is coming through and scratched my wooden floor. 1Measure twice, order oncePurchased these to replace tips on a walker I borrowed for short term use following a hip replacement. Tried rubber tips, they wore out quickly and seemed to drag on all surfaces. Considered tennis balls but was intimidated by the pressure needed to cut them open so I stopped before something bad happened. These work great and glide easily. Be sure to measure carefully before ordering. At first glance I thought the leg tips were 1 but after remeasuring and looking closer, they are 1 1/8 . It s important to get the exact size as they don t give, fit snugly and won t stretch to fit if ordered undersized. 5Works great for herI bought two pair of these to put on an aluminum walker that is designed to be picked up as you walk. I put these skis on the legs of the walker and put a strip of stick-on felt that is used on the bottom of furniture. We have hardwood floors in our house and my 92 year old mother can just glide the walker across the floor without trying to pick it up. Works great for her!! 5ExcellentBought these cane tips after a standard rubber tip had somehow gotten separated and disappeared from a relative's walker. The ski tip design was an immediate improvement, in that it seemed to facilitate smoother movement on a range of surfaces, including carpeting. Would happily recommend this product to others. (Would also note that even the dimensions were shown on the Amazon page, a simple sizing guide printed on the outside of the stapled plastic container that these were packaged in helps buyers at the outset confirm that the tips will actually fit the walker in question before opening the package - a small, but useful, feature I had never seen before on products of this type.) 5
