Thin and runny. Not much depth of flavor.Drinking a mocha every morning means I use a lot of chocolate sauce. The choices are Torani, Ghiradelli, and Monin.Of the three, Monin comes in squarely at the bottom. It is thin and runny which makes it useless as a dipping sauce or on ice cream, the other great uses for chocolate sauce. It also lacks flavor and richness. It is just plain boring.I tried this one bottle out of curiosity because of the reviews. Going back to my favorite, Ghiradelli. Of the three, it has the richest chocolate flavor and thickness.Torani is a close second because it has a more interesting and complex flavor. I just prefer the great chocolate flavor of Ghirardelli.I would encourage you to try Ghiradelli and Torani, choosing your preference. They both earn five stars from me.3Chocolate sauce on everythingMonin dark chocolate sauce is my go to for making a morning latte or cappuccino. However buying the smaller 12oz bottles was costly and I was hesitant to buy the 64oz bottle of sauce after reading the reviews of the pump itself.This blows any other chocolate sauce out of the water and is also great on ice cream. I received my sauce in November 2018 and the expiration date is November 2019, plenty of shelf life for us, 2 adults.5Favorite chocolate for mochaBy far my favorite chocolate for cafe Mocha. I've tried Ghirardelli, Torani and Fontana; this Monin beats them all, Ghirardelli coming in second by a solid margin. It has robust dark chocolate character that holds its own amidst the intense flavors of espresso, and (unlike Fontana) it contains no high fructose corn syrup.The sauce is very thick compared to other sauces. 2 months into usage of the bottle, the chocolate began to stiffen in the pump and I had to rinse out the pump to get it flowing again. If you need it to last longer (opened) than about a month, you should take steps to preserve it (seal it or refrigerate it). The 64 oz bottle is a bargain compared to smaller bottles, even if you wind up throwing some away.5Excellent for cafe mochaThis is just right for making a cafe mocha at home if you have a Dolce Gusto machine. Unlike other chocolate syrups, this tastes as good as anything you'll find at your favorite espresso bar.5It s a delicacyThis stuff is pretty great I must admit & since they closed that Starbucks store, this stuff has been my go to for so many months. Here a pump, there a pump & I don t even pump anymore, sometimes I pour it in a squeeze bottle and when that runs dry, I just pour it from the massive bottle strait out of the refrigerator. That s where I keep it & it s great . It s a great product & thank you monin because that s exactly what I do when I wake up 1st you hear the MONIN then you ....well it s chocolate sauce why don t you think of something to insert while your adding it to your cart5Best chocolate sauce in my opinionI decided to have a taste test on all the chocolate syrups and Sauces in stores and online. i bought every chocolate syrup known to mankind and i'm giving Monin Gourmet Dark Chocolate Sauce the award for best chocolate sauce in the whole wide world. Better than any other syrup. After you try this you'll throw your Hersheys syrup in the garbage. Best chocolate sauce i ever tasted, and i tried them all. Trust me. Life is too short for lame chocolate syrups.5High quality, luxury chocolate sauceIf you want the best chocolate syrup then don't waste your time with any other brand and please don't even bother with the Monin website. I have to go there occasionally because Amazon doesn't have most Monin flavors, but they are much more expensive, high shipping costs and take forever to ship. The fact that these are (add-on) Prime is a great value.I also highly recommend that you NEVER buy the super large bottle version of this for home use like I did. I tried that and it was a nightmare. If you don't use it for longer than a day it would get clogged and eventually it got moldy and disgusting. These bottles are slightly inefficient because you can't always get everything out, but it's much better than using the big ones, so please don't get that.Anyway, I got this to copy what my local coffee shop was using, and it worked! This tastes infinitely better than Starbucks, Torani, Godiva, etc. Tastes like the luxury chocolate sauce that you're looking for!5The BEST syrup brand & price aroundThe BEST syrup, especially for my lattes. I have an espresso machine, so I make them daily. Most places use this brand, so I was very pleased to fond it here in such a value size.NOTE: I ve heard some folks say theirs went bad (moldy) only after a very short time, HOWEVER, I was told that if it s for home use, do NOT use the pump!! That s where that problem come from. I ve had mine for a couple months or so, & am now almost out and have had NO problem with mold or anything. It s still as wonderful as the 1st day I opened it. FYI: I have a squeeze bottle that I pour it in and just keep the big jug tightly closed.5Buh-bye Hershey's! Monin tastes amazing AND it doesn't contain any gums!Man, WHAT a difference in taste from Hershey's! My 5-year-old son gets terrible stomach aches from gums -- guar gum, xanthan gum, etc. This ruled out Hershey's syrup and just about every other chocolate syrup on the market. I finally found Monin. I had low expectations. I really just wanted it to LOOK like chocolate syrup -- just enough so my son could have a glass of chocolate milk every so often as a treat. I never expected it to taste so darn good! Using this on ice cream, and just about any other thing you can imagine takes good to a whole new level!5Better than Hershey but not as good as I had hopedI was refuse to eat the fake tasting hershey syrup so I decided to search the internet for a high quality product. This is what I came up with... it is better than Hershey but after eating it on my ice cream twice I have not touched it again in months. I eat ice cream several times a week so I guess I was not impressed.3
