Some Things You Can't Live WithoutI have been purchasing these for the past 10+ years and have found that they have served their purpose well. I've had migraine headaches and tried using heat therapy but it always my head pound worse. After using on of these from the freezer, it not only got rid of my headache but got rid of it in a short period of time. Because they are attached with Velcro, they will adjust to fit quickly and are not just good for headaches but for injured ankles, knees, elbows, wrists, etc. I would have rated this with 5 stars but I recently purchased one that froze like an ice block and was not flexible...the gel pack should remain flexible after freezing. I returned the defective one for a replacement at no charge. The only reason I've replaced these is that after several years of use, the gel pack has leaked. Excellent product! 4DurableThis was my second one, still using the first one. We needed a second one for a backup when the first one melts down. Great product. Durable and may be used for multiple areas of the body. 5I strongly recommend this product for migraine sufferersI use the Medi-Temp for many things, I have had a number of injuries and you can fasten/shape the Medi-Temp onto any body part. I am a big migraine sufferer and the design of the Medi-Temp's velcro sleeve makes it easy to do other things while your applying ice because you don't have to hold it in place. I especially like it because I can go to sleep with it wrapped around my head when I have a migraine. The only thing I like better is a ice pack that freezes hard so I can apply pressure to my head or eye. This ice pack does not freeze hard so if you suffer from really debilitating migraines, you will need many of these in your freezer to sustain a really long lasting migraine. If you like a really cold ice pack they only last for about 2 hours. If you just want it cool, it will last longer than 2 hours. I have 5 of these (and other ice packs as well that freeze hard) and sometimes I run out of ice packs when I have a three day migraine. It also seems like they take at least 8 hours to completely freeze again. They only regret I have about these is not buying more of them. 5I love these packsI love these packs. I currently have two of them, but have had probably 4 or 5 in the last 7 years. I use these daily to keep headaches and migraines away. They work so well. They fit nicely around the head and stay put and cold for about 2 hours. Then back in the freezer it goes and I switch it out for the other one. The Velcro does lose it's stick after a while, BUT I still gave it five stars because I honestly use these all day long every single day. And the Velcro lasts more than a year with that amount of usage. And even when it stops sticking as much, I just put a new strip of Velcro on and it's like brand new again. I've only had one ice pack pop and that was because I has something sharp sticking to it. Otherwise, they last for years and years. I had tried a cheaper version and it was a big mistake. These are great because the outside is like a cloth material, so it's comfortable, yet stays cool. I've never used them for heat, so I can't speak to that. 5Apply directly to the forehead... and then wrap it around back and velcro it in place. Or not. I'm not the boss of you.This is pretty great. For years I used to use a scarf to tie an ordinary cold pack to my head when I had a super class-A headache but had deadlines to meet. I often wished there was a commercial product that did the same thing. One day I finally decided to check and there totally was one. I wish I had checked sooner. It's great.I had an issue for a while where it was freezing solid (which obviously prevented me from wrapping it around my head), but it turned out my freezer was on the fritz and was getting waaaay colder than it was supposed to. So if you have that problem, it's probably your freezer. 5Disappointed- not like it used to beI had this exact ice pack for years. It was the only one that was shaped correctly for my migraine use, as I've read many other reviewers say. It came time to replace my old one, but the chemistry of the ice pack and the material for the pad has changed. The ice pack doesn't stay pliable, but turns into a very hard block, which makes it impossible to wrap around my head without further pushing and making my migraine worse. I have to use all my strength to try and break some of it apart to work with it. I've even tried freezing it around other objects in the hopes it would fit my head better while being so rigid, but it still is so uncomfortable. The fabric also isn't as soft as the former model. So sad I threw my old one away before trying this, because now I have no solution for when my migraines come! 1Hot/cold packI like this for freezing for the facial pain I have as wel as my migraine headaches. Also fits my neck perfectly. I use either blue or white side inside depending on the amount of coldness I want. Velcro keeps it secured without holding constantly. Good item. 5Sadly disappointedI have cervical injuries that have progressively grown worse over the last 17 years, but are inoperable. Having these ice packs, in conjunction with medication, makes my discomfort bearable. I have placed my orders of these same ice packs through Amazon.com for years, but my last two orders have been terrible. These ice packs can develop weak areas and I am very hard on them since I use numerous packs daily. I always(!) order my ice packs unopened, brand new in their packaging. But these last two orders have arrived with ice packs in ziplock bags instead of in heat-sealed plastic packaging. I've had to return them both times with no knowledgeable assistance from customer service. I'm completely disappointed. 1Ive used these for years!This is literally the sixth head pad Ive purchased from Medi-Temp. In the past, I've paid around $30 for these, so I was quite pleased when I snagged these for $15 (so much so that I bought two). I suffer from frequent headaches and have had migraines since I was five years old. My mother in law introduced me to this Medi-Temp compress about 13 years ago, and I dont know how I managed to survive my migraines before! Whether its a minor headache, or a major migraine, I put the Medi-Temp compress on, and it really makes the pain manageable. It cuts the recovery time down substantially. I have four of them in my freezer right now. I start out on the blue side of the cover because its too cold first coming out of the freezer to put on the white side. But one it starts warming up. i turn the cover around to the white side and attach it just like the picture shows. 5A must have for migraines!As a severe migraine sufferer who gets about 10-15 migraines per month, I can't live without these. I have four in my freezer at all times that I rotate out as needed. The older ice packs have a slightly different material on the white section than the newer ones. The newer material is like a more cloth-like mesh, however it does not impede the ice pack's effectiveness. In my experience, the ice pack will freeze hard, however the frozen part can be easily squished to reshape as needed, and it will stay cold/frozen for a good couple of hours. If I wake up with a migraine at 2am, this is enough to last me until 5 or 6am before I need to switch out my packs. I love that the material has Velcro so it is adjustable and can fit around the circumference of my head or neck very well. I highly recommend for fellow migraine sufferers seeking cooling relief. 5
