This Decaf Makes My DayFor many of us, switching from full caffeine fix every day is painful and difficult. I ve reached a point where caffeine is not my friend At least not in large doses. So, the search began for a decent tasting decaf coffee.I tried a few including the decaf version of the regular coffee I had been using. Ugh. Okay, so maybe I could do this gradually?As I weaned myself off of caffeinated coffee, I went on a flat-out internet/grocery store/ all my friends and relatives/ SEARCH. Desperation reigned. I may have cried a little, but I ll never admit that.I finally narrowed it down to a few flavored decafs that I actually like. But this one, Lola Savannah brand, Mochadoodle Ground Decaf-- I Love. It isn t bitter. The balance of sweet chocolate, cinnamon, and the deep note of Arabica beans, roasted to perfection (Not bitter, not burnt) makes my day, every day.5We like the availability of DECAF vanillaWe like the availability of DECAF vanilla, but compared to Starbuck's ground caffeinated vanilla coffee, we find Lola Savannah a little weak in vanilla taste. The reason decaf is important to me is that I combine my caffeinated beans 3:4 decaffeinated beans to reduce the hyping effect of 100% caffeinated coffee. I just bought more decaf, though, because I haven't found any other decaf vanilla.4Delicious Decaf coffee!I am a devoted Boyers Decaf customer and originally bought it via Amazon and when Boyers pulled off Amazon ... I have ordered directly from their web site. They have discontinued many of their flavored Decaf coffees and that is all I drink so I decided it was time to try something else. The Lola Savannah Nutterfinger is a delicious coffee and the flavor is very unique but strongly suggests a toffee flavor. My only thing is ... I like a lighter roast (like the Boyers) but this is very tasty and I will order again. This one, like the others I ve tried, is yummy. I drink decaf only. It s nice to find flavors that are available in decaf. The coffee comes in a strong protective box which can be re-used for other purposes. It s delivered quickly, too.5Good flavor, very small grindThe flavor is great: enough flavor that it lives up to its name, but not so much that it overwhelms being coffee. The only drawback is that this comes very finely ground, which ends up escaping the basket in my coffee maker and clogging it. The underlying coffee flavor was fine but the "banana nut bread" flavoring used on the beans had an overpowering chemical taste that I just could not get past, even after several tries. I ended up tossing the remainder of the bag.2Well Worth ItThis is the third brand of this coffee I have tried and it ranks as an equal with the best of the other three. One of the most important aspects of whole bean, flavored coffee is its "wetness". If it's too wet, it doesn't grind properly and the flavor suffers. This brand got it right. I didn't think I'd like the two-pound size, but it's really not a problem. The packaging needs improvement and you will know this by the intensity of the aroma that is evident when you open a carton of the product. That aroma is great but it represents escaping flavor. I have not noticed this phenomena when opening cartons filled with bags of coffee in metal-based packaging. This is the only negative I have identified.4Love this coffeeI am not a big coffee drinker because I never found a coffee I really liked until I found this one. I how drink the coffee several times a week and really enjoy the taste. I have even made coffee for my friend when he comes over and he is a huge coffee drinker (2 large pots a day) and really likes the favor. I have ordered this coffee several time and will continue to do so.5No Vanilla.I through I was buying coffee that smelled and tasted like vanilla. It turns out that its just a very strong decaf coffee. Very Disappointed!1
