Problem Solvers!My wife has a severe hand tremor and her neurologist recommended this product. They make a world of difference and the weight of these utensils makes it much easier for her to eat without dropping her food. She loves them.5A Magical Invention!My 96-year-old friend loves this cutlery! She has Parkinson's Disease and her tremor was causing her to spill food all over her clothing and the floor whenever she ate, but now she doesn't drop a bite or a drop! She was skeptical at first, especially when she felt how heavy each piece is, but as soon as she began eating, she was sold! Now, she has a special place in the drawer for it and she uses it for every meal and snack. She no longer needs to use a napkin for a bib or wash her shirt after each meal! I am thrilled. Yes, this is expensive but it is well, well worth the investment. It restores dignity and normalcy to mealtime which is truly priceless. Update: She uses the fork and soup spoon when she makes coleslaw to mix the ingredients together! (Yes, she still cooks at 96!!)5Kinsman Weighted utensilsThese weighted utensils with their larger grips have worked out very well for my son. (He has spinal-cerebellar ataxia; a progressively degenerative disorder of the upper spinal cord and the cerebellum, whereby, he is slowly losing his coordination along with muscle atrophy.) I was feeding him, but now he can feed himself. The weight of these utensils is exactly what his therapist said he needed.5So totally happy!!!!My dad was recently diagnosed with terminal cancer and the disease has progressed very quickly. One of the first side effects from the cancer has been tremors, causing major problems for him to eat. Though they are pricey for such generic utensils, they are indeed much heavier then regular utensils. I was curious to see how my father would react using these utensils for the first time. Well, my father loved them so much that by day two i saw my big, tough,dad kissing his soup spoon. The utensils are quite heavy and it's that extra weight that helps him to mitigate the effects of his tremors while he's eating. He no longer loses most of his soup or food on the way up and I know he couldn't be happier. I believe it helped him regain a certain sense of dignity. Highly recommend. If your not sure, splurge and go with the set otherwise go individually. My favorite was the soup spoon.5
