No side effects for me personally which has been the case with all the other products I've tried before. It does take a couple of days for your stomach to get used to this so hang in there..it should work. I recommend taking one teaspoon with 12-16oz of LUKEWARM water for a couple of weeks to see how it affects you then increase to perhaps 2 teaspoons per day which is what i currently take(everybody is different so you should start off small and increase slowly to your desired effect)..stir it well for about 2-5 minutes and drink it. Try your best to drink more water throughout your day in small portions. It seams to work out best for me when I take this after a couple of hours after eating a big lunch which is usually my biggest meal. If I take it after dinner i end up waking up having to relieve myself due to all the water I've drank so that's why I take it mid day. Been taking this for approx 60 days now and it's working out great. One word of caution..this probably will not be all that effective if you are still consuming a fair amount of processed carbs including bread, cereal, etc.. or other highly indigestible foods that wreak havoc on your colon so you will want to really take a close look at your current diet and do your due diligence. One word of advice as well...rather than trying to figure out what you should be eating to be more regular and have a healthy digestive system, focus on foods to avoid at all cost and then you will be left with a wide open path to what you should be eating...that's my approach anyways. 5High quality psyllium husks get the job doneProduct is essentially pure husks with no sign of contamination with other material. Tastes like nothing in water, which works for me. Instructions say to take 1 tablespoon in 8 oz water. I take with 16-24 oz water as psyllium husk completely gels up even in 16 oz of water if you leave it too long and psyllium can contribute to constipation if you don't drink enough water with it. Will buy again. 5Perfect Fiber without the additives.Although I'd rather not have to take any supplement of this sort, this psyllium husk is very easy to take. It doesn't not have a flavor or smell. The texture is not bad, the more water I use the easier it is to drink. I think that's because it doesn't gel very quickly when it has more water. I have taken it with less water and it's a little thick but still manageable. I much prefer the psyllium husk to the man made items on the market. NO SUGAR and no additives. My stomach and digestive system is very sensitive. I am still able to take 1 Tbsp a day without any adverse reactions and it helps keep me regular. 5NOT GUARANTEED GLUTEN FREEBUYER BEWARE!!! This psyllium husk powder is NOT guaranteed to be gluten free. I am celiac and purchased based on the company information saying that it IS gluten free. Upon taking I had a very bad reaction to it that is consistent with my symptoms of cross contamination with gluten. I stopped for several days and then tried again and had the same reaction. I have been taking psyllium for 30 years so I know what to expect and how to take it with ample water.I decided to call the company to see what they had to say when asked about possible gluten content. The owner indicated there was no gluten in his product. When I pressed for the specifics of fields, equipment, and testing done he said they could NOT guarantee it to be gluten free, but that it WAS gluten free. Really!So I asked why they didn't just get the gluten free certification if it IS indeed gluten free. His response: "Well we tried to call them but no one answered." Ahhh.....what? Seriously? Let me repeat. You ARE gluten free but NOT certified because when you called to pursue the certification NO ONE ANSWERED so you gave up?????At this point I said thank you, goodbye. I could hardly believe the conversation I just had. I have ZERO confidence in any claims this company has about its product after the conversation and my reaction to the psyllium. Celiac and gluten allergies are serious business and the claims of Indus Organics are very misleading. 1A Great FIber Product!!For a long time I bought Trader Joe's psyllium seed for use as a great fiber source, taking a coffee measure full each morning. When TJ's ran out of stock a few years back I found this product, which I really like better, and have been using daily for the last 3 years. Now, there's no intent to criticise the TJ brand, but I like the Organic aspects and especially the appearance. The seeds have a uniform size & color, a pleasant light brown, and there is never anything else but the seed in the batches. Excellent QC on the product and the packaging is as good as it gets. The health benefits of fiber is that your food passes through & out in the simplest manner, minimizing potty time, which is good for those with hemorrhoids. You can tell within a day if you stop using this product. I usually take it in every afternoon and the 'effect' occurs the following morning say within an hour of getting up.. Let me add that once you sense a BM forming, don't put off finding a bathroom!! Supposedly fiber like this also lower cholesterol; I've read this but am not an expert. I really like the direct simplicity of this terrific product compared to commercial fiber products, which add sugars & much else and are tremendously expensive too. So, simplify, fellow constipatorians & just take this natural fiber product every single day. 5The cleanest Psyllium fiber on the marketThis is the best Psyllium fiber of all I tried.The cleanest and a very good texture. Being organic - even better.When I compare to other brands I wonder - how do they manage to make it so clean - no straws, no alien substances? Highly recommended. 5~~ Need a softer stool? Gentle colon cleanse? Save money by purchasing this ~~How many of you have been using the psyllium capsules? Two years ago I was diagnosed with an anal fissure. Painful does not begin to describe it. When I finally went to see a doctor he described the pain as feeling like I was "pooping glass"! That describes it well. He told me I needed to eat more fiber. I was incredulous as I eat a very healthy, whole food diet but evidently that wasn't good enough! He recommended Metamucil so that is what I purchased. Although I have tried to get by without taking this from time to time it is to my detriment and so I got to thinking the other day that there had to be a more reasonably priced way of taking psyllium husk. I really like to eat organically as much as possible so that was another factor. This is when I discovered this loose powder which costs the same amount for 1lb as does a pot of capsules! The powder goes a lot further!NOW admittedly the capsules are easier to take and I will definitely continue to carry some in my purse for those times when taking the loose powder is not practical. However my budget likes this powder better. As other reviewers have stated, if you don't want to be eating jello you need to drink this down fast. In the photos attached I mixed 1tsp with 1/2 cup water. Within 3 minutes it was a thick gel like glue. I left this particular mix out all day and by the evening it was like eating jello.Need a gentle colon cleanse? A program I recently watched recommended psyllium husk powder for just that purpose!What does it taste like? VERY bland. It really doesn't have much of a flavor at all. You may enjoy it better in juice or a smoothie. Needless to say it is VERY important that you drink plenty of liquid when using this as the husk powder absorbs a lot of water.I can very definitely tell you that this powder works and works well so give it a try. Thanks, Liz 5I know it's disgusting to say it out loud butOMG! Idk where to begin!!!! Yeeeesssss!!!! I know it's disgusting to say it out loud but, I can finally poop!! You have no idea how long I have been dealing with constipation, bloating and distention! I have had multiple endoscopies and colonoscopies done. Had a bunch of tests done!! Took amitiza and linzess with no success. Went on different diets and exercises with no success. I have tried different kinda probiotics and fiber supplements and wasted lots of money, but they didn't work. I have taken laxatives max 3 pills of dulcolox once or twice a week. I usually took them once a week and sometimes they didn't work so I'd take another dose. The GI doctor just said, you don't have to poop everyday. I told him I was full of sh!t tho and I don't get the urge to go! He said, like many others have said, there's no known cause for constipation and therefore there's no cure for it than lifestyle schanges. I basically just gave up!I read reviews on different constipation remedies and decided to try this particular one. Keep in mind I have take another brand of psyllium husk before with no luck. I started taking it one table spoon twice a day. I started on a Thursday by Monday morning I got the urge and pooped! OMG! It's a miracle!! Is it really happening? Finally? It can't believe!! After a week of taking it twice a day, I cut back and now I am on a once a day dosage. I take one table spoon at night before bed. Next morning, I have a great BM. I am planning on going to see my GI doctor just so that I can inform him about this miracle!I am so happy! The bloating and distention are getting much much better and I know they'll all go away as I keep pooping. All I can say is this, I really hope this will continue to work for as long as I live!PS: This supplement does not have any taste which makes it easier to take. At first I mixed it with water, but now I mix it with a little bit of juice so that it's thick like apple sauce. I use any juice I have and take it with a spoon like apple sauce. Right after taking it, I'd drink at least 8oz or more of water and drink plenty of water thought out the day. I actually like it when I mix it with juice like apple sauce. 5Great for Gluten Free BakingI use it in my gluten free baking. So helpful making gf bread have the same airiness as regular bread without having to add gums. Use it all the time and it's light in color so the breads color is not affected. 5
