Who doesn't love mini marshmallows??I am notorious for not reading the description well enough and/or being a terrible judge of weight. I bought this for my son's birthday party to set out as part of a "make your own trail mix" thing, and I thought, no way this will be enough. Of course, it turns out to be a giant bag of mini marshmallows because I apparently have no idea how much a pound is. They were an absolute hit though! They're basically like the marshmallows you'd find in kid cereal except smaller. Probably good for hot chocolate and things like that, but most of our guests just ate them in small handfuls as is. Everyone thought they were cute. I will post a photo5Little Clouds of Heaven! Buyer beware! Once you taste these (or your miniature schnauzer tastes these ), you won t be able to stop eating them! They re so good. I was pleasantly surprised that they actually have a real vanilla flavor, unlike some cheap junk. Straight out of the package, they taste like Lucky Charm marshmallows. However, I bought them to make hot chocolate wedding favors for my son s wedding. My daughter and I thought we should taste the product before giving away the treats (quality control, right?). Anyway, when you put these in hot chocolate they immediately soften and are like little clouds of heaven! The one pound bag was more than enough for about a teaspoon or so added to each treat. I m not sure if packaging could be changed but there is a considerable amount of powdered marshmallow in the bag. I just figure that will be a bonus topping for us whenever we use all of the marshmallows.5More than expectedMy grandchildren love these in their hot cocoa. The package arrived in great condition and bigger than expected. There was a tiny bit of powdered marshmallows but that should be expected as with any packaged product settles. I first bought a shaker container from another company and I use these reseal able marshmallows to refill the shaker. These are the dehydrated kind that are in many instant cocoa mixes that never give enough for kids that like the marshmallows but not the soft packaged marshmallows.I would highly recommend these.5Too much powderI put mine into a strainer to strain out the powder, and when I was finished, there was only 10 oz of marshmallows left from a 1 lb bag. I don't know what the powder is. It doesn't taste like the marshmallows, so you can't even use it to flavor something. Into the garbage it went. This is too expensive to throw out almost half of it.2I cannot order these againI ordered these for hot chocolate, thinking the small size would be great for storage concerns. They do really good in hot chocolate but dissolve quickly. The problem, and the reason I won t order them again, is that I discovered that they are great straight from the bag as a crunchy then chewie snack. More of them went straight in my mouth than ever made it into my hot chocolate. Not so good for my diet!5Perfect for furI used this product to create "sheep fur" for my 2 y/o niece's animal farm themed cake pops. They worked as I expected, but I was surprisedthe marshmellows actually got soft! I was very pleased with this as I expected them to still be hard and crunchy, which I would have also been fine with. They were MUCH better as soft fur!5More than I thoughtBe aware - there is a ton in here. I used on top of my hot chocolate fudge at Christmas, and 4 batches (8x8 pans) barely used 1/4 of th bag, even with the tops of fudge completely covered in marshmallows. I ended up giving baggies of these to friends with kids for their hot chocolate since they had an expiration date of approximately 9 months after purchase I didn t want to save them for multiple years of fudge5Mmm ... yeah ... no ... Don't buy these 3 months before your next A1CAt first, I could exhibit restraint after dipping into my first bag of Hoosier Farm dehydrated marshmallows. I limited myself to 1/4 cup spread over 2 instant hot chocolate packets. For, like, 3 days at most.Then I made the mistake of eating them without any hot chocolate. Wowza. There's a ton of calories, carbs, and sugar one can nom nom on by the handful. And I do know that's exactly what marshmallows are made of. But it s the speed (not the medication, although that could explain a lot) with which you can pound these down that is so frightening.I had to get my Atkins and Gary Taub books out again and check into the rehab conveniently located in my garage. I had been hiding bags of the stuff, which became impossible when I gateway-ed into buying bags of Hoosier dehydrated marshmallows that were larger than the dogfood bags.Yes, there can be a lot of powder in the bag. This is not a bad thing. I think it can vary per bag and depending on shipping experiences. Just think of it as a bonus, as though you needed more calories, carbs, and sugar.The marshmallow powder mixes in nicely with chai lattes, puddings, frosting, PB&J (smoosh it into the PB first), cheesecakes, and homemade iced cocoa. I will include my adults-only recipe in the comments. Like you re going to need more ways to use these devilish teeny white turds of mouth joy. (If you don t see it right away it either takes a while for me remember or I am in the car on my way to the land of the dehydrated marshmallow people.)I like Hoosier dehydrated marshmallows more than those that come with the pricey near-Nordic so-called Lover s brand. They are the same size and flavor, but they last a few seconds longer in a hot beverage. Only just.For the record, red blood cells can live a little longer than 3 months, so plan accordingly for your next blood glucose A1C test.5Absolutely monstrous bag!These are pictures with a Great Dane for comparison. This bag is huge! I thought it was tiny based of the pics of the product on Amazon. Thankfully I didn't order the three pound bag.The actual marshmallows are small, but for a reason. These are potential energy marshmallows. If you break any of these rules, they will enlarge and be kinetic energy marshmallows.1. Do not expose to bright lights2. Do not let them get wet3. No feeding after midnightViolate these rules and you, your family, and your country are screwed.These little monsters violate the laws of thermodynamics and hydrodynamics.Buyer beware. Even if you don't violate the rules, you will be stuck with more marshmallows than you can possibly deal with. Seriously, this is a large traffic sack full of marshmallows.5
