Checking various reviews of Turner (incl their very own site and Yelp), I was not the first of many, dissatisfied customers.BEWARE, or you may be one of the unhappy!1Great low-carb chocolate, but...I initially purchased a bag of Ghiradelli 92% squares at another store. I actually love dark chocolate and really enjoyed the 92% squares. I was hoping to purchase those in bulk on Amazon but could not find them as an option. So, I settled on the 86% squares. The 86% is close, but a bit creamier than the 92%, if that makes sense. I can't decide which one I like better. They're both good. I'm not necessarily doing keto, but I am trying to watch my carb intake. If you want a smoother dark chocolate, the 86% squares are the way to go, and would still align well to low-carb diets. But the 92% squares would probably make low-carb folks less guilty, so I hope to be seeing those sold on Amazon soon!4Ghirardelli is without a doubt the benchmark for great chocolate! But . .This is a staple in our household and has been for more than a year. We live about seven or eight miles from where it is made, and have always bought it from our local supermarkets. Lately however it has either been unavailable or at a very marked up price.So when I ran across on the Amazon site at a good (not outstanding, but good) price, I clicked it and saved a trip.The shipping boxes revealed an interesting note. Our package, manufactured locally in the Bay Area, came by way or New Jersey, routed to Memphis and to us in Oakland. No objections, product is fresher than what we had previously purchased locally and in perfect condition.I am curious about your well traveled chocolate, wondering how/why it went this route. Seems a bit much. Wonder what Jeff thinks?5Not candy. Healthfood!People complaining about the bitterness of this are people who are still programmed into thinking of REAL chocolate as candy. If you've been eating milk chocolate all your life (and who among us hasn't??), the first times you eat this it is going to taste bitter. Real chocolate IS bitter. Eventually, you will begin to realize how much added sugar there is in the chocolate you've been eating. Don't buy this if you're looking for candy; you will be disappointed. If you're looking for a healthy addition to a more modern diet, eat one or two squares of this a day and get the health benefits of real chocolate without all the sugar and filler. After a few weeks or months, "regular candy" chocolate will almost be sickeningly sweet. My one or two squares a day is my way to satisfy my sweet tooth in a more healthy way.5Improperly stored and/or very old stock.Being from San Francisco, Ghirardelli has always been my favorite. I've taken the factory tour and even have a chunk of the old leather conveyor belt that carried warm chocolate through the factory for 80 years (smells wonderful). And I'm familiar with their product enough to know that the package that I opened the other day is stale. The chocolate has no gloss to it and has started to turn chalky. And can someone tell me how, in a package of 11 small, individual pieces, every single individual square is broken? How does that even happen?Judging by the chalky texture, these weren't stored properly. And I'm completely at a loss as to how this package was handled roughly enough to fracture all the individual pieces. I can't very well give it one star, because the chocolate is still delicious, but the vendor hasn't been doing a very good job. I ordered four packages and intended to order more but I'll be looking for a different source.2Delicious, Easy Option for Keto Dieters who want an occasional treatThis is a firm chocolate that melts below body temperature, meaning it will quickly melt on your fingers and in your mouth. However, I wouldn't recommend this chocolate for melting, as I am not sure that would go as well. The mouth feel is smooth and it tastes only slightly bitter, quite delicious if you like very dark chocolate.I also really like that the servings are individually wrapped and small, allowing for a daily treat after a keto dinner that doesn't break the scale or require that I do any math. One serving is one chocolate. Easy breezy.5Not real sweet but very, very good dark chocolate.MMMMMM...It was hard to find a dark chocolate candy that was more than maybe 70-75% cacoa.These Ghirardelli Intense Dark Squares are 86%--the highest I've found. They aren't real sweetso if it's a sweet treat you're after, this isn't it. Cacoa on it's own, isn't sweet.. there's a lot of sugaradded to it to make chocolate sweet. In four pieces ot this, what they say is a serving size, you onlyget 5gm of sugar whereas in a regular size Snickers Bar you get 27 gm. I've found eating 1/2 a sq.satisfies me these are so rich in the dark chocolate flavor. Of course, I don't chew... I allow 1/4 of asquare to melt in my mouth at a time. I bought these a month ago and are just finishing the first ofthe four bags. If you really like dark chocolate, I recommend these smooth, dark, not overly sweetchocolates as a special treat.5Signals the end of a meal in a healthy way.This chocolate is a touch bitter BUT it is perfect for health and to stop me eating! Here's the deal, it is not yummy enough to eat the entire bag (otg!) but when I eat a piece it signals the end of eating. Have a hunk after a meal and you will see what I mean. Interesting outcome to a healthy snack.4good dark chocolateIt's dark chocolate, good dark chocolate. To get a higher percentage of dark chocolate in your candy is to invite a huge jump in cost. That's just the nature of this kind of delicacy. I chop these squares up into little pieces and mix them in with all sorts of nuts, it's a very tasty and healthy snack.5Product is old....the chocolate crumbles in your mouth. Yes, crumbles. :-/I purchase this exact product from Walgreens quite often and this one from Amazon didn't taste the same. (Yes, 86% dark chocolate from Ghiradelli, squares.) This product from Amazon seems like it's old. The chocolate literally crumbles in your mouth. It's gross. It's not supposed to crumble. DO NOT BUY.1
