This is what tuna used to taste likeIf you're tired of tuna that tastes like wet cardboard, try this. I'm not young, and this is the tuna we used to have when I was a kid.Sure it's packed in oil, but it's healthy, monounsaturated olive oil, and you can always squeeze most of it out, because the flavor remains in the tuna and not in the oil.This tuna doesn't require much seasoning, but I put in dill, thyme, black pepper and sometimes chopped celery and sweet pepper. Rice vinegar (milder than the regular stuff) or lemon juice round it off. Great in a salad, or add a little mayonnaise for a fantastic sandwich.This is the REAL tuna.5Cluck in a Can, Without The Feathers...or The Stink! :)DAbsolutely Delish, & Not The Stinky Stuff U Get Packed in Water!!! The tuna was musty smelling and tasting and brown in color. I feel bad because I have always previously received an excellent product.1LOOSE FLAKY TUNA IN WATER AND OIL MIXTURE.I've ordered this many times and it was always solid packed and very very good. This time it came (and I checked to see if I ordered identically the same item) and it was loose packed mostly water and oil mixture. Also something I noticed was the new pull tab to open the can which I had never seen before. I figure I got about 2 oz of tuna in the one can I opened and the rest was liquid.1This is my Go-To can of tuna!Excellent Tuna! I work with a group of people that are rather health conscience and were all about eating Albacore Tuna in water because they didn't want the extra calories or the oily taste of oil packed tuna and I get that. But for me, Albacore is just dry even if its wet. I LOVE Genova Yellowfin Tuna! It is packed in olive oil and has a nice light flavor. Yellowfin is a little darker in color than Albacore and has a very nice fish flavor, but not 'fishy'. I eat it at work all the time without any complaints from my coworkers in our cubical office environment. I've even gotten quite a few to switch over to Genova Yellowfin.It's so easy to keep several cans in my desk that I have a ready made lunch instead of going out to eat. I drain it and eat it plain with crackers, in a salad, or add mayo, mustard and capers for a quick little tuna salad. I gave this product 5 stars after my 1st purchase months ago. I still give it 5 stars with this review and 3 cases of Genova Yellowfin Tuna later.5Healthy stuff at a nice priceNot as good as the ridiculously-expensive Euro-elite brands, but far better than the cheapo brands: right in a nice sweet spot. Yellowfin is far tastier and moist than albacore. Stir it up with minced celery and a scattering of capers, enjoy, and watch those glucose readings tumble. Nice!4It's so darn good!!They quit selling this at my local BJ's - I was so unhappy! Then I came on Amazon and found a 24 pack for an awesome price and ordered it immediately. You don't want to make this a main staple of your diet because of Mercury (the metal not the planet). But as an occasional protein in a salad or a tuna salad wrap - well, it can't be beat for flavor. I also keep a can in my drawer at work. If I forget lunch or am rushed, I just pull the top and eat it out of the can, I don't drain it because I do a higher fat style diet (keto, more or less) and it's delicious plain! Yum, so happy to have it here.5WARNING! Don't buy!Not the same product any more. There is no olive oil in the cans (they used to be full with olive oil, but now its all water). The taste is not as good as it used to be. The meat's texture is different as well (worse). Even the nutrition value is different. On the Amazon's pictures you can see the old good tuna with 90 calories per serving, but you will receive the one with 100 calories per serving. They basically changed the whole product without telling the customers. This tuna was so good, but not any more.1
