This sleeve DEFINITELY runs small!This sleeve DEFINITELY runs small. I measured my elbow as instructed at 12.5 inches--right in the middle of the Large size (12-13 inches). Based on other reviews and the fact that I'm a weight lifter (thus working to grow my arms), I ordered the X-Large (13-15 inches). Even this XL fits quite snugly. Yes, this type of sleeve is supposed to fit snugly, but this XL is still on the snug side.This is my third sleeve of different brands. I'd recommend the ProFlex 650 Neoprene Elbow Sleeve the most. It has the smallest seam, so it is more comfortable. 3Mueller Elbow SleeveIt's okay. I was having elbow pain after painting a room in my house. Someone suggested I try it. I haven't been using it on a regular basis because it's hard to put on and it only comes in black. I can't find one in a nude color. Medium seems to be the right size. Once on, it is not uncomfortable. The next day my elbow does feel a little better. Because of the color, I am only using it in the evening and on the weekends. 3Durable - fits well - extends well below/above elbowFor my purposes (protection from abrasion of elbow and forearm), this sleeve works very well. It fits great (snug), seems to be durable, and extends well below and above the elbow. I tried purchasing one of the other, less expensive, alternatives and found that it was much shorter (minimal protection) and didn't fit as well. 5Other uses than for the elbow.Okay, so I bought this for my guys who workout at the gym. I'm not using them as elbow sleeves. So I was taping the forearm of one because apparently he has a shin-splint like symptom in the forearm and with some compression of the forearm it significantly reduced the shin-splint type of pain (mainly from doing pull-ups). So instead of taping all the time, I thought hey why not get a sleeve that would be tight enough. And so I got a small for the forearm, and it worked. So another guy wanted the same thing, except he needed a medium for his forearm. 5Stretches out fairly quicklyI have guitarist's elbow (a.k.a tennis elbow) from extensive practice. I started wearing this for support and after practice to help with pain. It worked as I had hoped. It provides the support I need while not limiting mobility. After about six weeks of about four hour a day use, I began to notice that it wasn't fitting as tightly as when new. I ordered another one. When putting on the new one, the difference in tension was easily noticed.If you are looking for a short term fix, this will work. I am going to look for a longer term fix. The more expensive elbow supports with Velcro fastenings should be more capable to compensate for use without stretching out. 3Sizing depends on usage.I wanted this to go over worn elbows on wetsuit. I'm very skinny, so thought the Medium would work. I also ordered a large somewhere else (Amazon didn't have large), and the Large will work better. If you are looking for a tight fit on bare skin, then sizing is probably OK. The thickness seemsa to be about the same as my 2MM wetsuit. 4WORKS WELL ON BOWLING ARMDoes what I was hoping it would do - helps protect muscle/tendon along inside of arm/elbow from further damage while bowling. Never had MAJOR damage there, but started getting a bit more tender than I was comfortable with and did not want it to get worse. And so far this sleeve has helped. Not only has it NOT gotten more tender, all tenderness is now almost completely gone. But I still (& will continue to) wear it while bowling. I am a female with an elbow measurement of 10 1/2 inches, so bought a Medium since I was on the lower end of their measurement scale for that size. (Had read in other reviews that they run small). It is nice & tight, especially the lower portion, but would not want it any tighter. And I found that removing it by peeling it down from the top was a lot easier. BTW, I wear it when I vacuum, too. 5Nice but super thickordered this for a chipped elbow that needed protection. It arrived quickly and is really well made. Con is, it is really thick and after wearing it for a few hours it had formed quite a grip on me and I had to peel it off, literally. So if you play sports, etc. this would be a wise purchase 3Works great for me when I'm bowling...A minor car accident in 2009 left me with a small tendon tear in my elbow. It's healed, but the scar tissue sometimes still causes pain when lifting heavy objects (like bowling).At my doctors recommendation, I looked for elbow supports that would provide some limitation on the range of movement.This one did the trick for me. The adjustable velcro straps allow me to adjust this support as needed during our league.I used to end our day with major pain in my elbow, needing a hot pad and lots of ibuprofen. Thanks to this support, I'm able to bowl with no regrets!The neoprene can get a little sweaty if you're in a hot environment, but a simple ace bandage underneath keeps that problem at bay. 5NOTE TO BODYBUILDERS:I have problems with my elbows killing from lifting heavy weights. Anytime I bump by elbows on anything they kill and are more sore than if I worked them out hard. I bought 2 of these elbow sleeves for each arm. I wear them a 1/2 hour before I workout to get my joints and elbows warmed up to lifting. These work great for elbow support while doing my Tri/Chest workouts. Unbelievable support on the elbows. Less pain after workouts and they give so much support while lifting that when you take them off if it feels like you should leave them on. Now for interior tendons when doing curls and Bicep workouts these will actually put more pressure on your arms from pump and they get uncomfortable. I take them off 1/4 of the way into a Bicep/Back workout. I wear them just enough to get my arms warmed up.What size should you buy?16-18 inch arms -- Large18+ size arms -- X-Large 5
