Good Concept, Too Thin where I need it most for Osteoarthritis (Thumb)I have other compression gloves made of breathable material that are like fingerless gloves, which work great for me, but I'm constantly taking them off to wash my hands and I tend to drop things more often because they are not grippy.Which is why I ordered this. They are indeed, grippy and I don't drop things when wearing them. I can wash my hands with them (although it takes longer to dry my hands and gloves. They are very comfortable.The big negative about this product is it is NOT supportive enough for my osteoarthritic thumb. It helps. On a scale of 1-10, it rates about a 5 for effectiveness there, so it's better to have it on than not at all.I AM keeping them because they are very helpful when I want to do detail work...sew, craft, apply makeup, etc. For me, regular compression gloves are too bulky to do these things yet while these silicone? gloves are a bit flimsy, it's more supportive and alleviates pain a bit than not having them on at all.4Feels great, really helps!I thought these felt a little odd when I took them out of the box but I fell in love with them as soon as I put them on. It feels great, the compression is wonderful without being too much, and they are flexible. They have a low profile so I can wear them comfortably while doing other things. Sometimes I'll chill them for a couple of minutes just to get that extra little soothing feeling when I first put them on. Wearing these for a little while every day has definitely helped me!5Helps a lotOverall I'm happy with the releif I am getting from it, I have arthritis at my thumb/wrist joint and the compression provides a lot of releif, I can wear it for all day comfort without having to remove it, because I can wash my hands with it on. The reason I dropped a star though is because it's silicone and when I sweat or wash my hands with it on, the moisture does not go away, you have to use a towel to dry it between your skin and if I don't try it, my skin will itch. So I can't wear it overnight due to the fact that I I sweat a lot in my sleep, so I purchased on that isn't silicone for overnight.For those wanting to know about size, my wrise is 6.25, so I got the small, and when I first put it on, the compression was too much, so when I would start getting the tingling I would just pull the compression out to let the blood flow in, after about a day it stretched out enough where I didn't need to do it anymore.4Durable, waterproof & inexpensive.I am a physical therapist. I have occasional bouts of wrist & thumb joint tendonitis. This waterproof splint is perfect due to the fact I wash & sanitize my hands 40-50 times a day when seeing patients. At the end of the day I turn the splint inside out, sanitize with alcohol & air-dry. Rugged, durable & inexpensive. My fellow colleagues that are occupational therapists were impressed with this splint. Highly recommend.5Make my hand very painfulThis item hurts my thumb terribly all night after 2hrs wore of testing. My wrist hurts dues to after delivering baby, this item does not give any support to my wrist while I assume it's too tight on the thumb to wrist stretching part, it pressed my thumb line red and swole almost like a cut. Giving my hand a buring pain feeling all night long and is still going on as of now while I'm typing this. Thanks to the recommended DOCTOR 1Sizing chart is off. They look like a good product for the money.They were too small for me so I gave them to my daughter. She liked them so I might order a larger pair. These look tiny coming out of the box and while I realize they are meant to be compression, the sizes do run really small. I ordered the small and they fit my 11 year old daughter! I hope the medium size will fit me correctly.4My initial reaction is favorableI spend a lot of time at a computer keyboard, plus I do a lot of gardening, and it's possible to both type and do yard work wearing this brace, which I cannot say about any other splints or braces I've ever tried.First, I'm not sure if De Quervain's is my problem, but I have bad pain in the lower part of my right thumb (dominant hand), so I'm guessing that's what it is, coupled with arthritis. I tried that hand test that I found online, and my wrist did not hurt, but my thumb right above the wrist sure did.I've had some cloth-type compression gloves in the past that felt good but got downright nasty and then eaten by the dryer like socks. I got a medium size in these based on my wrist size and figured any compression would be better than nothing.When I first put one on, I thought it was too large, but after wearing it a while, it seems just right. I thought at first the compression on my thumb was going to be too wimpy, but after I washed my hands and rubbed the area with some high-quality coconut oil before putting the brace back on, I was able to tug and slide the brace around some so it is putting compression where I want it most. Because of that posting by the woman whose thumb crease got sore and broken, I pulled the end of the brace up higher on my thumb so the brace rests above the crease, and that also seemed to help apply more pressure to my thumb and pull it back a big to keep it straighter.I'm allergic to latex, and so far I have not broken out wearing this brace, so I think it's silicone, not latex. After wearing the brace for the first 15 minutes without the coconut oil on my skin, I didn't notice much change in temperature, but when I rubbed on some coconut oil, I felt the area under the brace warming up some, which feels great. It remains to be seen how my skin will respond over time.I'll wear this solidly for 24 hours and see how it feels, and if I have negative effects, I'll come back and post them. But so far, so good.UPDATE: No negative effects. It's working for me.5Best support in my large collection of wrist braces!I really like everything about this brace. It is light, has enough "squeeze" to support, without cutting off circulation, and there is no sloppy looseness anywhere.The fit is perfect -- I have a smallish hand, and these have been great.Durability - My new puppy chewed two of them. There are lots of tiny holes, but it didn't mess up the integrity of them too much. The holes on the outside edges, ended up tearing. Beyond that, I have washed, gardened, and used them in every daily activity.The only thing I wish could change, but I'm not sure quite how, without possibly altering the the really good compression, would be to have some "air vents" in the large covered areas. This is because, my skin, has decided that it doesn't like any moisture that collects under the gel. I have tried wrapping a paper towel around my wrist, but I end up with a rash on the bottom side of my wrist. It goes right away with Benadryl cream, so I can't complain.I am purchasing again, even though I see other gel braces with vent or breathing holes. Those don't appear as sturdy as these have proven to be.5A good product, I like it a lotI have this for 2 days. It is a great product. gives support and compression. I can wear it all day.It took me an hour to get used to it, as I had to adjust the thumb part, had to pull it so that it did not irritate the crease at the base of my thumb. After I did that, it felt great. I can type, and do other jobs wearing it. It is not bulky at all. I really like this. I like that it comes 4 in a pack, as I feel safwe that if I lose one, or damage one, I have back ups.5Works, Don't Know How But DoesI've got a sprained thumb joint and decided to try these to give me some support and compression. I was amazed how well these work. Now they are not a stiff brace but more a compression bandage but they really ease the pain. They are easy to clean and reuse. They have a powder on them when you get them but after you sweat in the them or wash them they are hard to get back on. I tried sprinkling baby powder on the them and perfect. I just need to find some talc powder somewhere so a 70 year old guy doesn't go around smelling baby powder. These really make my hand feel better.5
