Not Bad!Helps a lot! It helped lifting my leg getting in-out bed (post surgery). Now, it's used to help with moving my leg during home exercises laying in bed. The only con: Made with some sort of thick bendable wire (inside) which I have to straighten out each time I use it. 5Great for anyone with knee or hip surgeryThe leg lifter is a simple aid that can make a huge difference in your comfort level after surgery. I used this after a total knee replacement and after a total hip replacement. In both instances the leg lifter was a great help during those first days when lifting the leg caused a lot of pain. This aid is especially useful for people who have issues with both legs and can't use a "good leg" to help move the operated leg. 5Great after knee surgeryI used one of these in the hospital after my knee replacement and it really helped the first few weeks. I use it now (12weeks out) for knee exercises. My mother has a lot of hip pain and she wanted one to help pull her leg in the car. My trainer saw mine and wanted one for her mother since she was having knee replacement. Her mother also loves it. 5FreedomThis item has changed my life, I can get into bed without help. I can also get in and out of the car with ease. The handles are flexible at the joint, but have enough stiffness to hold the loop open. There is a wire down the middle which makes it easy to put your foot in or out of the loop. 5The strap looked like a great ideaI bought this or my husband who cannot lift his legs. The strap looked like a great idea, but the material around the metal rod inside slides on the rod and does not stay stationary. This made it very difficult for him to control. I also think the metal rod inside should be thicker and more durable as it bends somewhat easily. Great idea though! 2Terrible!I used a leg lifter a couple of time in rehap. The quality was so much better than this one. I'm on Medicaid and was trying to save some money. The team's catalog priced at $19 and this one was about half that price. The ratings were okay so I bought. Big mistake!Basically this type of leg lift is made out of the same web material most dog leashes are made of. One side has a regular handle while the rest of it is driver to hold it's shape. There is a metal rod that runs through the main body and the foot part. One would place their foot into the foot part and with the help of the rod lift your leg onto something such as a bed. The problem the rod is not in any way secured so it moves, allowing the to move any way which makes it difficult to control. Plus the rod in the better quality lifter is bent on the ends preventing anyone from feeling the sharp metal ends. Not so with this one. Pay a bit more, check the reviews and get another one. I'm sure going to. 1 this simple clever health aid!Bought for a friend. I loved mine sooo much, before and after knee surgery, and total knee replacement...to get my leg in the car....in the bed....over the motorcycle seat....climbing stairs!My dr was shocked at how quickly I could get around, bending and flexing...I said, this simple strap-thingy is what I used....he bought a bunch for his patient's use!Seriously....I will buy my friends one, but they cannot have mine! 5Great helpAfter a total hip replacement surgery, I was told this is a must-purchase. At first I was not sure what to even use it for, then gradually as PT started it assisted in some exercises,and I realized it was an amazing help assisting me into bed, I was glad I purchased it. Its also a help to raise your operated leg in and out of vehicles. 4Good value and quite strongI have several of these in strategic locations and have used them twice daily for a year due to a nerve imbalance. They are quite reasonably priced and I have only had one break the wire inside a good value for the price. 5Makes life easier for nowI'm schedule for THR and I purchased a bunch of items in anticipation of my surgery. This is the first item I opened and used. I'm sorry that I need it, but darn happy that it works so well. Since I'm only going to need it for a short time, I'll donate it once I'm done with it. 5
