Relief from an Easy to Use and Store Traction DeviceI have cervical radiculopathy resulting from degenerative disc disease and this traction unit provides me quite a bit of relief. It is awkward and somewhat embarrassing to use, but I try to wear it for about 10 minutes every night. My dr. wants me to wear it in the mornings, too, and I try, but I often don't have time. This product is easy to put on and pump up. It is adjustable for different sized necks. I can feel it pull on my spine and the relief I get from nerve pain is notable and can last anywhere from an hour to a few days, depending on many other factors. 5Better than expected.....I bought this unit to give to a client who could not afford a unit that her insurance would cover (a portion of the cost was covered by ins). The quality seemed in line with the price, soft fabric that seemed to be well-constructed, no assembly required. There's a small valve that must be held down / in while air is pumped into the unit, and it required a lot of air to do any good, so I had to switch hands part way through due to fatigue.Overall I'm tickled to find something that is much cheaper than the units available to people via their insurance. I will recommend others buy this unit for themselves. 5It Works !This pumps up and pushes my head, away from my neck and helps relieve the pain from deteriorating cervical vertebrae. I don't use it as often as I should. My dogs think I am a real alien when they see me with it on. 4Inflates/deflates easily. My neck measures 17 1/2 inches and it ...Inflates/deflates easily. I have a few herniated cervical discs. After wearing for just 10-20 minutes (about as long as I can stand), I take it off and feel a tremendous amount of space in my neck where pain used to be. When the pain comes back next day, I give it more traction for relief. Great product and wonderful for long plane rides to hold up head while sleeping! 5Great DealFor those upset about having to squeeze the little pump a zillion times the first time you use it: Just blow it up with your mouth, then attach the hose from the pump. Took me two big breaths, but then again, I've got nice lungs.During physical therapy I used a more sophisticated device to stretch my neck. When I told the therapist I wanted one for home, I was contacted by a sales rep who said it would cost me an arm and a leg. No way would I trade an arm and a leg for my neck.This contraption gets the job done. Granted, I feel (and look) like a total dork when I'm wearing it, but I'm a dork who spent less than $30. Will it work for you? If something similar worked in physical therapy, then I would say this device will work just as well.If you've never used something like this before, then it's anybody's guess. If you find yourself kind of stretching your neck to help alleviate the pain, then shuffle your finances to give this dorky looking thing a shot.This is not some quack device. There's sound science behind it. This is just an inexpensive version designed for casual use by one person rather than constant use in a professional environment. I have stenosis and disk degeneration, and this helps me.Pain sucks. Chronic pain really sucks. Don't suffer any more than you have to. 5Highly recommendThis product is amazing, period. Over the past few years I've had seemingly endless cervical issues (compression and lack of lordosis/curvature) in my spine, and this inflatable "pillow" seriously works, and gives instant relief. I've also heard some pain management specialists/chiropractors/doctors favor these things as well. In terms of quality, I was surprised by how soft it is. It appears to be a medical grade traction device, just really cost effective. 5Great product...but a short lifeThis really is a great product with one big downfall. It doesn't last very long before it breaks. I was warned about this from several others who have purchased and sure enough, mine broke in about a month. The valve quit working. I was hoping it would last longer. 1It takes some getting used to but it does work ...It takes some getting used to but it does work....when you get it fully inflated it can be very uncomfortable at first so I had to work up to 5 min at a time. But it does help with my cervicle herniation when I cannt feel my right hand. 5This Really WorksI bought this item on the recommendation of my cousin who has similar neck issues. If you have blown discs or spinal stenosis this device will provide you traction and alleviate some of the pressure you might experience. After shoveling snow or lifting heavy objects I will be in quite a lot of pain. I use this traction device for about 15 minutes and the pain drops dramatically. Without a doubt I would ask your doctor first before using an item like this, but if they approve, go for this one. It is made of durable materials and I do not feel like I will have to buy another one for a long, long time. 5
