My kid hates it. I love it.I'm giving it five stars because I'm going to take it, and I think it tastes great. It reminds me of a lemon starburst without the sugar.Unfortunately my 2 yr old does not like this, and can tell when I've mixed it into other things like applesauce and purees. So, I will be going back to Nordic Naturals strawberry flavored DHA oil, which I think tastes horrible, but the strawberry flavor mixes better, and my kid finished the entire bottle. 5Product works! Do your research. This is not herbal medicine, this is about vitamin deficiency.In the same ways coffee can jump start an adult in the morning, this product seems to jump start the brain in a very healthy way. Use only at recommend levels!!! I advise morning use before lessons. Immediate results were apparent the first week of using the product. Teachers even noticed the differences as well surprisingly. It's possible this won't work for everyone of course, but certainly some children will benefit from increased Omega-3. This product is being used for an autistic child (3YR) as well as two children at normal learning levels (2YR & 4YR) with the same positive results for both. Problem solving and attention span are greatly increased. Please note autism isn't fully understood, so take everything with a grain of salt metaphorically speaking.Good luck to everyone, and just know that you're a good parent by even looking in to these things for your child! Since we've begun this, his speech has improved dramatically, and he has almost completely stopped with some visual 'stimming' habits he was developing. It stands to reason that our son is not on the spectrum and we are just overly sensitive after raising one child on the spectrum, but his doctor has given her blessing to use this as a supplement, so we are going to keep using it and enjoying the positive results. 5Tastes so yucky!My kids took one tiny taste of this and refuse to take any more. I agree, it's awful. The bubble gum flavor doesn't mask the oil taste at all, it's really bad. And I'm not a picky eater. It also has a chemical type smell that I find to be very off-putting. Because of that, I stopped trying to bribe, force, trick, or beg my kids to try it again. So now I have a $20 bottle of cod liver oil sitting in my fridge. It's a winner! it has a slight lemon taste and my daughter doesn't have a problem taking it. This will be a staple of ours. 5Was perfect throughout my pregnancy and afterwardsI totally agree with reviewer J. Lynd about the content. I am actually buying the kids version for myself. I used the adult one throughout my pregnancy and a few months afterwards. Doctors and nurses were amazed at how well my pregnancy was going (minimum nausea, all my tests were coming back perfect, no swelling, no complications, baby's growth impeccable) and they (including my obgyn and midwives) kept asking what I was doing to help my pregnancy. I told them cod liver oil. And of course, they didn't believe me because all of their parents made them take it when they were young, so now they despise even the thought of it. But, then I told them I don't just buy any crap that's sold at the local drug store, but I did research first and will only buy Carlson's liquid form after finding out that high quality cod liver oil helps with the baby's nervous system and brain development. (Of course, my obgyn didn't know to tell me this...) This was very important to me because I'm in my 30's and the medical industry is always warning about the risks of children being born with defects increases linearly as the mother increases in age (and my age is approaching the danger zone!)So, several months later when my 1st born was approaching 8 months old and I was running low, I went to the local health store to get my fix of cod liver oil. But the store was out of the adult version. So I waited, went back several days later and they were still out! Then, I went to Whole Foods and they were out of the smaller bottle but had the larger bottle for $60. No bueno - sorry but I'm too much of a miser to pay that much for cod liver oil. So, I ended up buying the kids version after comparing the labels. I have both: an empty bottle of the adult version in the recycle bin and the kids bottle is in the fridge right now. Both are the same size and both have the EXACT same content of DHA, EPA, Vitamin E, Vitamin A. But, I like that the kids version lists the suitable amount a little one should have. Most supplements totally disregard that children are likely deficient in the same minerals and vitamins as adults, so they only recommend the daily dosage for an adult. But we have no clue how much to give to a child! My son is currently only 8 months old, so he can't take it right now. But, I'm glad to know we both are getting the same beneficial nutrition; it will just be in different dosages (once he's old enough to take it - for now, he'll just have to get it from my breastmilk...TMI?). 5Love this productLove this product already on my 2 bottle. I give this to my 2 year old daughter to help keep her well. Boy do it work!! She loves the lemon taste Before giving this to her she would stay sick week after week after week. Being in daycare was taking a toll on her immune system. Ever since I been giving this to her twice a day (in the morning, right before bed) she is doing much better!!!! 5
