Exactly what I neededThis brace is of excellent quality. The Velcro if anything is too strong. With my cracked ribs I can adjust to the perfect tightness. Once on the pain is significantly less. This is just what I needed, and if you have an injury involving your ribs you'll very pleased with this brace. 5Compression brace for womenThis brace was not the least bit helpful for my injury. It isn't wide enough to support my ribcage. The cutaway for breasts makes it even narrower in the front. The velcro held well, but where/how one side attached to the other, under the breast, was thick, bulky and uncomfortable. The brace shifted about and the fabric folded over itself under my arms. I had to take the brace off after wearing it just a few hours. It caused me additional discomfort...more than I'm already experiencing from torn ligaments between rib bones.. 1Soft and Comfortable - Used for chest compression after bilateral mastectomy. Genius!I ordered this item for an off-label usage. I just had a bilateral mastectomy and have found great pain relief with compression. A surgical compression bra didn't provide enough so I used an ace bandage but obviously, I couldn't put it on myself and had to rely on someone to help me. This is perfect! I'm able to easily wrap my chest independently, it's soft, and comfortable to wear. I'm very pleased with the product and my brilliance. Haha 5Not as wide as picture shows but does sort of workYou will not be getting a wide belt as the picture shows. My is at least 2 inches narrower maybe 2.5. The elasticity is good and stays in place but I order this unit specifically for a wide belt as shown in the picture as I hurt several ribs and needed full support but this did not match with the picture. I ended up having to supplement this with some other old ace bandages that we had as backup. 3Highly satisfied with the pain relief!!I have separated the cartilage between three ribs on my right side quite a few times over the years. U.S. Army injuries. You do it once, it's likely to happen again. Recently, I did it again from having the flu and coughing so much. I tried Ace bandages and a velcro weight lifting belt. Both did nothing for me. The weight lifting belt actually made the pain much worse. Once this brace came in, I've been as pain free as possible given the circumstances. An injury that has, in the past, taken anywhere from 9 months the first time....broke two ribs also on that first one, to four months to recover from is now almost pain free after two months of using this brace on and off. I cannot keep it on all the time and neither should you. Two hours on, one hour off, is my recommendation for cartilage separation. In the past, I've had the health insurance to go to a doctor and get the ones that cost hundreds of dollars. This time, I just wanted to try a product that didn't cost the taxpayers hundreds of dollars and me a trip to the VA 90 miles away. As a plus, the Velcro on this one has lasted. It's a tab bit frayed, but its holding ability and the integrity of the product has not been affected in the least. I would definitely order this again the next time I'm dealing with this. Having said that, now that I'm not using it much, I bet this one will still be around should this occur again. 5INCREDIBLE!!!I have a progressive neurological condition. In the past 6 months I have experienced mid-back pain at the level of my ribs. It is muscular rather than nerve pain and is not alleviated by the nerve-blocking medication. I can't take Ibuprofen because of kidney disease. This pain has been so severe I coudn't sleep. Expensive products to adjust my sleeping posture were comfortable but didn't help this pain.A friend who is an EMT sggested I "self-splint," so I went to Amazon and found this. Could something this inexpensive actually work? YES! This simple little thing has lessened the pain 95% and has even helped the lumbar pain which remained despite nerve blockers.Miracles are only from God. Products that work are from BraceAbility. 5Good productSofter than I was hoping for, but probably good for broken/injured ribs to minimize pain from sudden movements or deep breathing. I was looking for something between a stiff back brace and an Ace bandage to use as support for my ribcage while sitting and working at the computer. This is a little more supportive than the bandage would be. The hook and loop closure is VERY secure -- broke two nails trying to take it off! LOL All in all a good product, but I was trying to use it off-label. 4It gives good support for newly fractured ribsIt gives good support for newly fractured ribs. I used it to secure an ice pack several times a day and night. 5This has been the only product I could get on ...This has been the only product I could get on my body without breaking into a sweat, needing to lay down and rest, and all out giving up on trying to protect my sore ribs! 5Great reliefI opted for the larger size version even though it states its 10" too large for myself. I like the flexibility of being able to adjust the pressure of the brace, my ribs were already sensitive before I bruised them in an accident. The brace does tend to bunch up, but it applies the perfect pressure to my injured lower right ribcage. It's helped a lot to relieve my pain, especially when moving, coughing or laughing. 4
