NOT sexy - best for last mos. of pregnancyThis is my 3rd pregnancy in 4 years and a good friend of mine rec this after carrying twins for 38 weeks who were 7 lbs each! Said it was a life saver. I was doubtful it would help but I've had lots of hip pain throughout this 3rd pregnancy and I've never worn a maternity support belt before - didn't feel I needed it and I work as an Esthetician so was on my feet working on clients til month 9 for preg 1 & 2. Out of desperation I started wearing this cradle in month 8 and it has helped. When I was smaller I didn't feel it was as helpful but maybe that's b/c I ordered a size Med and s/h gotten size Small.Key points:1. Yes it's ugly and the front straps will show under clothes unless you tuck them out of the way under your nursing bra hooks(good tip). If you are in pain you won't care.2. You could prob order a size down like others rec - I didn't thinking at pre preg size 8/10 (155 lbs), I usually gain at least 30+ lbs during pregnancy and would need the extra length. Right now at 32 weeks I wear it on the middle hooks (there are 3 sets). Where I wish there was more adjustment is the flexy material under your breasts - I guess in this respect bigger size is ok. After a long day it feels tight here and you can't let it out.3. Wish it had more sets of hooks around waist so you can adjust to shorter length during early months but suppose you could sew on your own. Also wish it wasn't white.4. I wear this over my bra and not over a tank top and don't think it scratches all that much. Granted during the summer in LA heat, I opted not to wear this b/c I was smaller and not in as much pain and it was too hot to wear with clothes. I also like this instead of the more traditional support belts b/c it's not made of neoprene or similar material which I found bulky and really hot under my clothes. When you're preggo you're already hot.5. I bought the prenatal mini cradle to try and that was stupid - just a big strip of elastic which you could make. Here w/ the prenatal cradle it's the whole contraption which makes more sense for the $$.I'd give it 5 stars if it had the above adjustments. I'd have been more inclined to wear in 2nd trimester if so and maybe that could've been a good preventive for aches and pains. 4Helps with daytime leg numbnessThis product has stopped almost all my daytime leg numbness. I have been wearing it for 2 weeks and have had only one leg numbness episode during that time. Before I was having an episode 4 or 5 days a week. I picked this product based on my weight, and it seems to fit well. I am 5 foot 8 inches. If at first it is uncomfortable, keep playing with the straps and find what works.I have tried sleeping with it to help with leg numbness, and if it helps, it doesn't take it away entirely as I still have those every night. It is pretty comfortable to sleep in, though. 4Believe the comments - Get the bigger size. Hooks too Far ApartI was 140 pounds at 6 months and decided to get size small as it can supposedly accommodate up to 150 pounds. Well, when it arrived, I had to use the last set of hooks and it was already super tight! So I gave mine to a friend and ordered the medium.The cradle supports your tummy but for some reason, it also makes the sides of my back sore after a while. It helps, but you won't ever "forget that you're wearing it" and as many of the reviewers have mentioned, the straps really do peek out even in conservative necklined-shirts.All in all though, it does help when you're carrying heavy, like I am with twins.Update:I'm now 8 months along and discovered a new problem: the 3 sets of hooks are too far apart! I can't hook them at the middle as it is already much too tight and if I use the last set of hooks, there is absolutely no support as it is too loose. They should have 5 sets of hooks instead to place in-between.Now I have to resort to using the 'velcro' type maternity belt. In short, just when I needed belly support the most, this prenatal cradle let me down. 2My new Best FriendWhere have you been during my past pregnancies? I'm expecting twins, currently 23 weeks, think a singleton pregnancy, almost full term. Yesterday at work I wore my old support, mostly sat during the day and chased around my 4 kids in the evening. My back ached by the drive home.Wore my new Best (Cradle) Friend today, took thousands more steps, chased around kids, and was on my feet almost all day. It's bedtime and my back feels great!Love love love.I purchased the medium. 5'1" 160lbs. I'm wearing it on the tightest setting now with room to grow.Not a fan of the straps over the collarbone, but it does the job, so I'll be wearing it. 5Godsent during pregnancy!!!So grateful for this adjustable cradle. When I wear this brace my belly and legs don't ache, and my feet don't swell. I'm able to walk more and further. I'm 35 weeks pregnant with my second and I worn this cradle for both pregnancies. I recommend this cradle to everyone in the birthing industry- my midwife, chiropractor, doula, etc. My hope is pregnant mamas everywhere discover it and alleviate unnecessary pain.Note on sizing. Order based on current weight not pre-pregnancy weight.First pregnancy I started off at 123 lbs and delivered at 150 lbs. The small cradle worked great.Second pregnancy I started off at 123 lbs but by 28 weeks was already 152 lbs. I ordered a medium and was grateful I did. It initally fit on smallest hook and still left room for my growing belly. Highly suggest this cradle for later in pregnancy over other types that don't adjust or don't cross over the shoulder. I tried both and they weren't nearly as effective.I suggest adding hooks in between the hooks provided to add more adjustability. The hooks provided are about 4 inches apart. Adding hooks enables you to adjust every two inches. That said, the band stretches so if you aren't able to add hooks the cradle still works well.The cradle shoulder straps do show on many outfits--but the benefit of the cradle far outweigh this flaw in appearance.Best wishes for a healthy and pain free pregnancy. At one point I used it all day just about and every time I went to my doctor appts. I have a cousin that had twins and she loved it the whole time. She was very active all the way til the end so it was very helpful for her. I was put on bed rest at 23 weeks so I wasn't up and about much. Even though I didn't use it a lot, when I had to use it, it was a must so I'd definitely recommend it. 4A must-have for a twin pregnancy -- skip the plain maternity support belt!I am 34 weeks pregnant with twins and have been suffering from constant back, hip, and round ligament pain for more than 2 weeks. I originally had a maternity support belt, but it didn't help much to begin with and I outgrew it a few weeks before the pain started. The only thing that has helped is warmth (warm baths, showers, and pools)--I have been miserable.At my doula's continued suggestion, I purchased this maternity harness earlier this week, and I wish I had done it sooner. It isn't perfect, but it definitely alleviates the back pain. It does nothing for the hip or round lagament pain, but I didn't expect that.The things I don't like about this product are:- It is difficult to conceal under shirts because of the neckline.- The straps are difficult to adjust while it is being worn.- I wish the belly portion had more adjustability--they only give 3 options to fit it under the belly. I find that I need a set of hooks in between the smallest and medium setting. Had I purchased this sooner, I would have likely taking it to a seamstress to have a couple more hook rows added.- They don't include instructions for putting the item on.But overall I am glad I made this purchase because it takes away some of my discomfort. And at this point I am not going to purchase more maternity clothes, so I have accepted that part of the "V" portion of the shoulder straps is going to show. And I do wish I had purchased this sooner.Oh, and shipping was incredibly fast through Amazon, and I don't have Prime. So I was so thankful for it to arrie when it did. 4Amazing support for twin pregnancy!I am 21 weeks pregnant with twins. I have a support belt from Motherhood from my 1st (singleton) pregnancy that I found to be uncomfortable and really rather unhelpful. I only tried wearing it 3 times and just gave up. (I did not have back pain with my first pregnancy, and have not had it - yet- my problem is that my belly feels too heavy and I want support holding it up!) The Motherhood belt seems to be just for back support. This one, however, provides both!I have the same complaints about it that other reviewers have noted - the shoulder straps show above the collar of most shirts (I solve this by safety pinning it to my bra straps - i'd like to attach something like lingere snaps directly to the shoulder straps, so I can just snap it around my bra straps). That helps for the collar problem with most shirts. It is still a problem with lower cut and v-neck shirts.I do wish there were more eye hooks on the part that supports my belly. I was a size 6 before pregnancy, and at 21 weeks with twins I have a belly about the same size as mine was when I was full term with my singleton 1st baby. I've been switching between the middle and loosest hooks. An option to hook it between those two would probably work better. It does look like it would be easy to add an extra set of eye hooks (and I just might do that), but so far it has been more of a minor irritation. I start most days on the middle hooks, and if/when it starts to feel like it's digging in I just adjust it to the looser option and it's fine for the rest of the day. Slightly less support that way, but still leaps and bounds better than no support.It is incredibly easy to make all of the adjustments while wearing this product. I can easily and quickly adjust it during one of my frequent trips to the bathroom at work. I wear the style of maternity pants that come up over my belly, so I do need to pull that down in order to adjust the belly support. It is not necessary to take it off or adjust it when going to the bathroom. (I remember the Maternity one being uncomfortable going to the bathroom while wearing). It is flexible enough to adjust well enough that it does not dig in anywhere while sitting.Although I wasn't experiencing any back pain before wearing this, I'm really loving the excellent back support. It feels great, and I have noticed that it helps me keep better posture, which I'm sure will prevent future back pain.Highly recommend this product, and also hope the manufacturer works on fixes for the two problems noted above (don't let those two things keep you from purchasing this product, though - they're minor and it's possible to work around them, which is worth it considering the incredible support it provides). 5This maternity support was recommended by my OB and it definitely helps with the ...This maternity support was recommended by my OB and it definitely helps with the 3rd trimester aches and pains. Certainly not the sexiest thing out there, and you can't wear a low-cut/v-neck type shirt with it, but if you're looking for some good support, this can definitely do the trick. I chose this over some of the underbelly options out there as I didn't feel that something just supporting under the belly could do much to take strain off the back, whereas a model like this can transfer some of the weight-bearing to the shoulders.Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that it comes in white, and I wish it was available in a nude color so it wasn't AS obvious under light-colored shirts. 4Getting me through twin pregnancy.I buy a lot of things from Amazon and almost never write reviews, but I feel compelled to praise this product! I purchased this cradle while 27 weeks pregnant with twins. Prior to my purchase, I was in extreme pain in my hips, legs, glutes, etc. to the point where it was painful to walk, roll over in bed or put pants on. I even had to use a motorized scooter sometimes when shopping in big stores. I ordered this product and started wearing it the day I received it. I felt instant relief, which, at first, I thought was all in my head. That evening, i could move around in ways I hadn't been able to in weeks. I can run errands, go on car rides, sit at my desk and walk around without being in excruciating pain. I have now been wearing it for over a week and I think it is the only way I will get through these next couple months of pregnancy. It is amazing, and I'm so happy I found it. 5
