High quality beef tallowI originally bought this to season my cast iron pans but I have been adding extra to cook my steaks in. This is such an excellent product that I came back and bought another jar! Lasts a decent amount of time too so it's a really good amount and quality for the price.5Not very beefy beef tallowI bought this after listening to a podcast by Malcolm Gladwell about McDonalds frys changing. I did a test and cooked some fries in the beef tallow in a deep fryer and then the same fries in vegetable oil. I expected the same results that the podcast revealed but I got the opposite results. After relistening to the podcast I realized this beef tallow doesn t have a beefy flavor like the tallow that was used by McDonalds. It basically taste like Crisco. If you are looking to get a beefy flavor from the tallow this might not be the one you want.2Smell is awful - I would give it NO STARS but amazon won't allow thatThis stuff really smell awful when you cook with it. You cannot smell it in the jar. Also, very hard to get it out of the jar. Stunk up my whole house. My mother used beef tallow all of her cooking life and it smelled great. I don't know what this stuff is but I became nauseous. I asked for a refund and Amazon gave it and I don't even have to return the product. I should have listened to the other 1 star reviews. Sometimes I don't believe the 1 stars but this time I got it first hand. There are people using this to make soap so I guess maybe it is for soap not your dinner. Sorry I really did want to like it.1You get what you pay forThe item arrived safely and intact. No spills or leakage. The plastic jar is heavy duty and it was sealed properly.
