Already addictedI was optimistic but skeptical when I purchased this product. Two people in my family get migraines, and I have insomnia, so I thought it was worth a shot - as a last desperate measure to avoid medication options. After just a few days I am hooked. I use it as directed for about 10-15 minutes, right before bed, and have been surprised at its effectiveness. It is relaxing and soothing the same way a scalp/neck massage is, for me anyway. I'm planning to use it the next time I'm stressed out/obsessing about something - it induces a profound feeling of calm for me.As for my other family members, jury's still out. One has really short hair and it's a little too intense for him (I'm trying to get him to use it for just a few minutes at a time). The other is a little spooked by all the prickly bits ("why would I want to put my head on THAT?")...but next time a migraine hits we'll see if it helps. Super happy I found this, now curious about the mat. (Also: I really appreciate the little carrying bag that comes with it. It's a nice touch.)5waste of moneyI purchased because i tried a friends she purchased on line. It did not have any brand name. Hers came with the neck pillow and the mat for $49.00. I thought the pillow would come with the this mat as it was $80. So I sucked it up and bought the pillow for $49!! Typing this now I realize i should have stopped based on the outrageous cost. The foam is way to soft that you cannot feel any of the pressure points. I have tried rolling a towel and searched for firmer foam with no luck. The neck pillow is useless and not eligible for return. The mat was fine but really need the combination for any results.1Nice, but succumbs to entropyI've used the bed of nails pillow in conjunction with a bed of nails mat on and off for a year and a half. I find it to be quite relaxing. It's hard to speak to whether or not it is therapeutic per se since it's difficult to know what degree of aches and pains I would otherwise be experiencing without it.In any event, I wanted to take a minute to write a review of this product as I am currently replacing my pillow. With regular use, the foam does eventually break down -- or perhaps more accurately, break in. It defeats the purpose of the pillow to have it conforming to my head, I think. It's not a deal killer, but know that, if you use it regularly, you will eventually want to replace it.As a side note: I put my bed of nails to best use in conjunction with prism glasses like Prism Glasses, Prism Eye Glasses or Bed Prism Spectacles. I lie on the bed of nails with my prism glasses on to play Jeopardy! against my wife. It would otherwise be hard to regularly find the extra 30 minutes of spare time to lie on a mat & do nothing.4awesomeI was skeptical about this. I have pain and besides drugs nothing was helping. This thing works - first it gave a relief for an hour after 10 min on the mat and pillow. Then I start using several times a day and it does keep the pain away. Its probably does not fix the problem, but help with reliving the pain.5Love itI loved this pillow so much I fell asleep on it. yeah, I know you are not supposed to. Me falling asleep is a big deal since I hardly get much sleep. I try to lay on it for 15 minutes but extend it more because it really does feel good. It continues to feel good after too. Gets the blood flowing or something. I purchased one for my best friend and she has already called me three times to thank me and tell me that she loves it. Have and would recommend to more and more friends. It's very relaxing to lay your head on. I suffer from lower back pain and it takes my mind off of it. It would probably be awesome for headaches (which luckily I don't have) but I do sometimes have a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders. This definitely helps with that.5Great for stiff necksI carry all my tension in my neck and shoulders (think brick-like texture most of the time), and this has really helped ease some of that stress. I can feel my muscles relaxing when I use it, and it has definitely helped me sleep better when I use it right before bed. Both my husband and I noticed a difference in the ease with which we fell asleep, and the depth of the sleep we had when using this pillow. I have not successfully used it yet when getting a migraine, but am hopeful it can be added into my routine to avoid getting full-fledged migraines in the future. Overall, very happy with this product - I even got one for my mom for Christmas.5Doesn't hold shape, so the spike don't do muchI've bought these in years past (same brand/design) and loved them. They last forever. This one didn't have firm enough filling and it smooshes flat in use. And for the price. Super disappointed. Maybe a fluke but I'll be reluctant to purchase this brand again.2Really helped me become more in tune to what my body needs. Provides a natural way to combat stress, insomnia, and painThis product has been nothing short of amazing. I have had chronic back pain and chronic anxiety for as long as I can remember. Having a debilitating illness made simply existing very hard, however, 18 months out from a transplant surgery at 23 and I am finding myself to be seeking new ways to be kind to my body and treat some of my concerns in more natural ways. Some years ago, my doctors and I discussed the option of accupuncture. We ultimately decided against that for some health reasons, and this accupressure mat was the next thing brought to my attention. After reading some reviews, I decided to order and try it out. Like I said, nothing short of amazing.This has helped improve some of my chronic pain, particularly in my back. My sleep has sleep improved. The added benefit of lowering my anxiety has been remarkable.I would recommend this to friends and family and anyone.5This Pillow Rocks!... This pillow rocks! I originally got it for a stiff neck and migraines. It does take a little to get used to but after awhile it is like an amazing mini massage for the neck and base of the head. When I use it, I usually lie on it for 10-15 minutes and gently move my head/neck around to get other pressure points. I also have the mat but have a preference to using the pillow.Don't just take my recommendation. A friend came over for the weekend and developed a nasty crick in her neck with a headache. I put her on this pillow and after a few minutes of whining about the pain, she fell asleep! When she woke up, she said her headache and her stiff neck were gone. She loved the pillow and kept using it all weekend because it relaxed her so much. She is now looking to buy her own Bed of Nails pillow.You do have to be careful moving the pillow because I've gotten scratched by the plastic nails a number of times. It isn't a deal-killer because I love the pillow, it's just something to keep in mind. 5Bring On The Nails!!Maybe I just like pain! But I not that impressed with this pillow because it contours to my neck too much. I was hoping that it had a much firmer pillow so that I would feel the "nails" more. I'm planning on stuffing it with a harder foam roll pillow and I'm sure it'll be fine. Maybe I can fit my yoga roll in there!3This thing is awesome!!!I bought this because I read positive reviews and read about these products in a magazine. I have neck and shoulder tightness and pain almost everyday. I stretch and get massages but needed something else. This is so awesome. At first it feels funny and may even hurt a bit but it goes away and then you wind up with this euphoric feeling like you took some type of drug. I've even fallen asleep on it. Clears up any pain I have without medication. Simply awesome.5
